New Grower First grow and new to the network...

Everybody gets a new reservoir today. GG was first — she is sitting in flawless finish at 6.1. Monday morning she gets the chop! :tang:Took off a bud and took a pic, I hope she keeps her gooey goodness.

I just can’t seem to keep enough calmag in the NLs. I’ll be ratcheting up their dose again.

Come Monday I’ll have the NLs and 4 seedlings in the tent with 6 cobs, 4 3500k and 2 2700k. I’m thinking I can pull 2 of the 3500k out? I don’t think I’ll need that much light. I’m thinking to keep the uvb light in there though — at 36” I don’t think it’ll even hit the seedlings. Shooting from the hip on the lights so if anyone has suggestions I’d appreciate it.
Nice nice nice! I could just take a bite right out of that!

I think the light is really only effective up to 20" away, so that would be too far for anything. Check your light specs. I am pretty sure you have to get them pretty damn close so they penetrate. They should only be on for max four or five hours at peek use in,late flower. Start around one of two hours and ratchet it up each few days.
If you use the Reptisun 10.0, I think 20" is the penetration from the bulb...please check on that though. Looking forward to seeing that Ripleys and Fastbuds GSC. I just ran three of them. All great, but only one of them gave me the Thin Mints pheno everyone chases. Good stuff though. Super sticky buds, full of trichs. A good strain from Fastbuds.

Oh the chances are pretty slim I’ll get the thin mint, I’m only running 1. Still, would be nice. You’ll have to let me know as she develops what you think she is.

Yeah, the reptisun window closed for GG, she’s super frosty! When the NLs only have a few weeks left, I’ll run it on them. I’m thinking a foot from the top for them. At that point they’ll be maybe 36” from the younguns, probably no matter.

It is real easy to spot the Thin Mint pheno, it I see the only one which is a light green color and adds no other flashy purples or reds. The other pheno, or the purple pheno, is just that. She turns a lot more purple in her flowering stage and has a more earthy flavor with only a hint of mint and a slightly bitter aftertaste. Super strong herb no matter what pheno you get.
The purple pheno I mix with Green Crack to add more fruity flavors often and the two Sativa together make for a zippy buzz, and I also grind it up after freezing it and then sift out the lovely keef she produces. Very good for pain meds and more pure than the flower, one of my favorite ways to consume that particular phenotype. I take the leftover ground up bud and put it into the bags I use to make bubble hash later. Nothing wasted, and twice used to get some product.

i think 12" is a good place to start and see how they react for the UVB light. If you use a good reflector, you could probably get better penetration and back her off, but I just don't have experience enough to know for sure witht that light.

I would think the 6 COBs for a 4x4 or 5x5 tent would be just about right. It all depends on what the PAR ratings are, at what height that is from the canopy and how much area that will cover. Peace

Hey NW how are you? Have you started a new grow?

I’m thinking with just 2 flowering plants and 4 seedlings, maybe the lights will be too much?

It doesn't really matter about how many plants you have in there. The light par reading at certain heights are what they are. The plants and their distances from those lights then are what you control. Big plants closer, little plants farther away. Then as long as your par readings at your canopy were good before, they will be good again. However, if we are talking what is actually needed, we'll then yes, you probably don't need so much light for the seedlings, but in two or three weeks, you will be putting them back up again.

Leave them there and just shut one or two off...easy peezy, lemon squeezy.

GG poked through a rapid rooter in another reservoir far far away on 9/15, making her more or less 133 days old today. This girl taught me a ton of good shit, you can see what’s coming up behind her. Fine smoke the past couple weeks, I’ve taken a half ounce easy off her. The humidity here is in the low 30s, so we’re waiting on the humidifier in the 3x3 to bring it up and she’s going in for a whole plant hang and then we’ll see. If I have a hard time maintaining 55% she might go in paper bags.
