Day 24: No pics today... Not much time lately due to an ongoing family medical emergency involving a lot of hospital time and little sleep time... Everything looks fine except for a bit more light burn on WC despite moving the lights up. Ideally, I'd take all the plants out and put the healthy three on pedestals and keep the WC on the floor of the tent, but I don't have a practical way to do that right now, and I think WC's light tolerance will pick up shortly now that its nutrient woes seem to be fading. The others are enjoying the LEDs where they are currently. Next time, I will cut pot-sized MDF blocks and put them in watertight bags to use as shims so that heartier or more mature plants can enjoy being closer to the light while the infirm or young sit on the floor. Right now I just don't have enough MDF on hand, nor do I have giant ziplocs. Watertight bags are a much easier solution than poly considering MDF is a nightmare to finish, being so absorbent.

Day 25: White Crack has recovered fully from the nitrogen/light burn issues and is growing rapidly. I topped it and the other two plants that hadn't yet been cut. The canopy should be pretty even between all plants in a few days, though tomorrow I might do that shimming I talked about yesterday as I found more wood lying around. All the plants are now touching their neighbors. I'd rather them be a little crowded while I manually prevent leaf overlap than move the pots farther apart and not get as much intense light toward the center.

Pics tomorrow!

Day 26: New pics at last. It's no longer practical to take pics of individual plants inside the tent, and unfortunately the lighting sucks now because my neutral CFL isn't powerful enough to light up the whole tent. Oh well--I don't think I need diagnosis at the moment, so the pics aren't quite as important.

So now WC and FoSt are 26, SC is 24, and FuSt is 21. I'm wondering if I need to start thinking about defoliation at this point. Mephisto's strains are supposed to flower around day 30. I wonder if I should remove some lower leaves. It's pretty shadowy on the lowest leaves.

In other news, I forgot to turn on the humidifier after refilling it last night, and it did not matter--VDP was great. Humidifier can be retired for this cycle.

Finally, none of the remaining three I topped yesterday seemed to slow down a bit.

Please chip in with defoliation advice. I've read some guides, just unsure of if I should do this at this point with autos...

Day 29: I removed quite a bit of lower foliage and any other leaves I didn't think were worth sustaining. No budsites were sacrificed, so I wasn't that aggressive. Maybe it would have been ideal if I'd only done the older plants today and waited to do the 24-day-old Fugue State till later, but I decided I'd do them all at once to see how Fugue State would respond differently, it being farther from transitioning. That, and because it was convenient. ;) I'm feeding ~840 ppm now (deceptive figure--this would be more like 600 ppm without the CalMag, so it isn't as hot as it sounds), and next time I mix up a bucket I will start decreasing nitrogen slowly in favor of P and K--though I am not at all convinced of the 'bloom nutrient' thing, there does seem to be some logic to providing less nitrogen in flowering. I'll be bumping up ppm very slowly from there on till I see the first signs of burn, then decrease a bit, as @Mañ'O'Green suggested some time ago.

I haven't had any new issues in a long time, just a tiny bit more light burn on White Crack. I've been moving the lights to 17" when they get to 15", and letting the plants catch up before resetting to 17" again. It's all easy from here on I think.

I had a pic of each plant, but somehow lost one of them...

I pinched a few more after this

All the pots look like this. This one is on the far side of Sour Crack, so planting it off-center in the pot clearly did not bother it. Even with roots like this, 1 or 1.25 gallon of food spread among all four pots is enough to still have the top of the coco feeling moist 24 hours later. I guess this is the benefit of a 5 gallon pot--I was considering 3 gallon pots next time, but if during this period of explosive growth I'm only having to water once a day, I think I'll stick with 5.

Cute 4-fingered leaves from Forum Stomper, nearly mirror images. :p

Thanks. They may be smaller than they would have been, but 4 plants is too much for this 32x32" tent anyway I think.

Day 30
: Fugue State, the youngest plant (25 days), has white, lengthening pistils already. I guess it's officially beginning to flower. The others still have green pistils.

That is great man! I'm almost 5 weeks in but I think yours are looking better.

Aww thanks! I've been wondering why I hadn't seen your journal on the thread listing lately and I just realized it's because it's in the non-newb forum. I must have always taken the link from your signature and not realized it wasn't on this forum!

I'm kinda surprised (but happy) how bush-like mine have turned out with only pipe-cleaners on one plant. If they start stretching more I'll probably have to get active, but a little soft bending each day has done a lot more than I expected.

I probably should have put it in the beginner forum lol. I'm on tapatalk so I auto subscribe to anything I post in so I keep track of my favorite grows.

They look good though. You didn't kill them or waste money do you're doing something right.

Yep... My only lost resources were two seeds, one of which was a total abortion and one of which I think stayed in the towel too long or was possibly damaged by me when I planted it. Not too bad considering I still have enough seeds left for another 4 or 5 full tents (depending on if I go with 4 or 3 plants next time). So glad I went with four separate strains this time, though, especially now that the canopy is pretty much even. I can focus next time on my favorite of those and maybe one Bubbly Livers, one of the freebies I received but did not plant this time around.

Looking back I think my only wasteful spending was on nutrients. If I could do it over again I'd still buy Armor Si, CalMag and Liquid KoolBloom, but get Dyna-Gro Foliage-Pro instead of the Flora Trio. When I run out of Micro (which will happen long before I run out of Gro or Bloom) I will for sure buy a gallon of Foliage-Pro.

Oh yeah, and those awful Home Depot watering cans I bought... Fuck those things. The submersible pump in a bucket setup I have now makes feeding so painless...
