New Grower First ever grow with what I have on hand

High Time! Stopping in to see your baby, she looks healthy. I’m on my first grow too.

I’ve heard a lot of good things about Delicious Seeds. And Northern Lights ... ahhhh, just the name makes me feel 20 years younger. I have a couple Northern Lights in my collection, probably a good month or more to harvest still.

Happy growing :d5:

Careful with the Miracle Grow. I had a bad gnat problem on my 1st grow because of the larva in it. They are a PITA to get rid of but I did manage to do it with a month of treatments & covering the tops of the soil pots with gnat nix. Be ready to buy Mosquito Dunks & a few bottles of peroxide & some Neem Oil if you start seeing gnats. I can't say if it was just that bag of soil or if it's all that way because I only used it once & refuse to use it again.

Thanks for stopping in. I'm definatly looking forward to trying out this strain. :smokeit:

Your first grow looks like it's doing very well. If I can do half as well, I'll be happy.

Thanks for the heads up. I had the soil from using it on a house plant so I was aware of the gnat problem and ready for it. I got rid of the gnats the first time(house plant) with peroxide and by spraying adults with a bit of dishsoap in water. So far on this grow I only have a handful of gnats and they are getting stuck to the tape I put around the edge of the pot so I have not had to spray with dishsoap yet. Hopefully they don't get out of hand. I've already treated the top inch or so of the soil with peroxide. I couldn't treat the whole pot because the soil was still fairly wet from the initial seed planting and I didn't want to wash the seedling out. I'll do another peroxide treatment when I do another full watering in a week or so.

Cover the top of the pot with sand, gnat nix or unscented dryer sheets to help prevent gnats from getting back into the soil and laying eggs. Don't want the Larva eating your roots.
Dish soap is good for on the plant itself; but not so sure about on top of the soil. Never used it. Always used Neem Oil & made sure to spray under the leaves also. Neem oil is good during veg but don't use it during flower or your buds will taste shitty. Sticky traps work good for the flyers as long as they're yellow. For some reason they're attracted to yellow. I just use a bowl of warm beer or some molasses spread on a plate or something for the flyers. It works good too. Just pointing out a few options you may or may not know about.

The dishsoap is for spraying the gnats directly. A bit of dishsoap in a spray bottle with water will kill most bugs. I even use it to kill wasps.

Peroxide to kill the larvae in the soil. Dishsoap to kill the adults on the soil. Neither will hurt the plant but I'll keep the soap off the plant the best I can if I need to use it.

I'm not using sticky traps. I'm using clear packaging tape. The tiny gnats stick to it pretty good.

Picture day! Day 14. She seems to like the t8 lights so far as she is a bit squat. Not much stretch. I watered one week ago to run off and the pot is still heavy so she has a few days to dry her roots left before I can water again. No nutes of any kind have been added so far.

The tape stuck on the side of the pot is catching the few fungus gnats and when it's time I'll water with 1% peroxide again.

She looks good to me. It's hard to do nothing but look at her but she doesn't seem to need any help from me. I'll buy her a new light in a few days so she has a blurple to flower under.

Looking good man. Doing very well on your first grow. Save your money on the blurples check out the autocobs in the lighting forum. Cobshop.net they get the job done. Also I would ponytail that girl for a couple hrs and see how she does if she is doing good leave it for a couple more hrs. Then take it off. Do that for two to four days and those lowers will take off. Then u can start to leaf tuck. Non of this will even slow your girl down. Will help increase the yield. And it gives u something to do. Just be gentle pipe cleaners work just don’t ponytail too tight. I leave it so a little light still gets in the center. I’ve had my eye on this strain so I wanna see how she does for u.
