First Ever Grow: Beginner Questions

Dc seed is good. Really fast shipping and they got some good breeders. Gnome automatics is good Of course mephisto is the best Fastbuds is well know. I got some blackberry from them I going to pop soon. Im new to this too. Been growing a little over a year And the smallest plant i got was 40 grams so you guys will grow some nice buds before a year man I say a couple plants and youll have an idea. Dont over think things leafs get spot and turn yellow dont stress every flaw in the leafs just ph your water and give them light. Do your best not to over water you will. I do its easy for a beginner. Have fun with it. And remember everyone makes mistakes no matter how long they been doing it. good luck on your grows. we are here to help all we can. Cheers.

Hey all,

New member to the forum and about to start my first grow.

Strain: Fastbuds Gelato Autoflower from NA Seed Bank.

My tent with carbon filter, in-line fan, and light are all ready to go. I’m using the Vivosun VS4000 in a 4x4 tent and I’m going to try to grow 3 plants. Soil is Fox Farm Ocean Forest with additional organic perlite in 5 gallon fabric pots. I’m germinating the seeds using the paper towel method now.

Question 1: Should I water the soil before I place the seedlings? If so, how much? Til little run-off?
Question 2: How far away should my lights be from the soil at this stage? 100% light, or use dimmer? Is there a guide to what strength my lights should be, and how far from the plants I should have them?
Question 3: How long can my plant grow before I begin supplementing nutrients? Ocean Forest with Perlite in 5 gallon fabric pots. I do have the trio, but I’m thinking I may only need to use Tiger Bloom later on in the plants life? Maybe some Cal-Mag as well?
Question 4: Do I need to pH my water? I see conflicting advice everywhere. Some say it’s extremely important. Others say the soil will regulate itself. If I do, what pH am I looking for?

I plan on doing little LTS as it’s my first grow.

Trying my best to be prepared and not overcomplicate things (not easy)!

Nice to see some one else in my shoes. I'm going to give you some advice. Use this forum everyone on here is here to help. Ask questions I do everyday all day. I've learned everything I know from right here...I use fox farm soil too and I wait 3 weeks before I feed. Also ocean forest is a hot soil so I put that in the bottom half of my bags with Happy frog and happy frog soil conditioner.. I do this so when I plant the seedlings after paper towel method.. there is a lighter soil on top so it won't hurt the little ones..hey you can ask me anything also. Im new, but I have alot of information cause I study all the time...I'm still learning everyday...and ask questions everyday..... Here's some pics of my gg#4, orange sherbet, and amnesia auto...check out my grow journal...every question your getting ready to ask..I probably already did..lol and the answers are on my new growers journal....good growing... Shit they are sleeping I'll have to send pics another time there is fresh pics every morning on my grow journal...later

I did end up planting all 3 seeds anyways. 2 had taproots. Hoping for the best!

Appreciate it brotha! Trying to fix my light situation. Should be bright enough for the seedlings, but it’s like 40% bright no matter which setting I have it on ‍♂Vivosun supposed to get back to me before end of day today

Looking good! I have a backup LS1000 that I intended to use for a veg tent if I ever do some photos. Should do the trick for now while I get this issue with the 4000 resolved. Just very annoyed right now lol

My temps and humidity lookin good though. Maybe a little on the humid side. But they haven’t even sprouted yet so I think that’s good. Once they do, can open a few vents and get the fan going

i would wait a couple days before a fan and what not. I wait A week really.

Ya that's understandable...I got to get better lighting I'm liking the mars hydro 8000 CO2 light for my flowering tent with uv and ir bars....5x5
