New Grower First AutoFlower Grow - HPS and LED used - Grow Log - Input or Critique Welcome!

Day 30 Update - Almost a week since update, too much work :D

I'm happy to a point, but I'm thinking the amount of light caused the plants in back to get a bit leggy, oh well. I'm happy they are doing well! Swapped the Eye Blue and I put in a HPS bulb for flower til I figure out the LED thing a bit more.

I've started using House / Garden Soil A and B and a couple ammends, per rec of local shop for a fert during flower. They did caution to take it easy first couple of feeds to see, so went just a bit over 1/2 of rec a couple days ago and raised light just before pic (taco leaves.. hot, I think)

A couple of pics and a vid! Peace!!!

A couple pics as well!

Bro I just wanna say kudos for the videos. Not many growers shoot up videos with their updates. Keep up the good growing!

Awesome grow and set up. How much heat does the HPS light put out? How many degrees does it raise your temp verus just running LEDs? I have two 300 watt LEDs and I have been thinking about adding the 150 or 250 watt hps. My only concern is that it will be to hot.

Well... they are trying to survive ME hahaha

Day 41 Update, haven't had a chance to update... am crazy working

I'm having a heck of a time with temps... would seem the HID gets really hot in the tent, I have an air cooled hood, but really am surprised that even with a 6" fan to pull air through hood, just how much heat remains in the tent.. I had it on and took it off, and the tent simply turns on a fan with humidity or temp gets outta line.

However.. I the thread title will stay accurate  as I recently ordered a 192x3 LED, so maybe by next update the thread title will remain true, as a learning experience, the amazon LED special just wasn't cutting it, substituted for awhile, and will be back to original intentions shortly (tuition with this stuff.. if you don't learn hard way, you can't learn at all)

Here we go... a quick video

That's the trouble I'm having... heat, and it's winter EEEK

I had no trouble with the smaller HPS however and will return to using it.

Admittedly, I think air cooled HIDs are no problem at all, and wouldn't hesitate to use in a bigger space, but even in my small 4x4 and fan pulling heat, heat radiating through glass was acting like a heater, even during just 75 or so outside temps.

So.. maybe someone will else will chime in, but I had *no trouble* with the LED and 150 watt HPS, but when I swapped out for a 600 watt MH and HPS, I was having a bit of trouble myself.

Probably not helpful :D but I'm trying darnit

Pretty much all I can say right now haha. I didn't know what I was in for when I popped some F&V, not at all lol.

One thought... there seemed to be some pretty aggressive, yet short veg growth. I'm wondering if the F&V would be a good scrog candidate. I'm pretty sure I'm only getting a partial amount that the plant can actually produce.

Having never done a scrog grow, I'm curious.. seems like it's been said that autos do well under scrog.. but they don't like stress. As I've got several different heights in there.. kind of limiting for lighting.

I'm trying darnit hahahah

looking good Chip. you might need a stronger fan with the heat, or bigger intake. the light green plant look's like it could use a bit stronger feed maybe bump up the "N" a bit. have you gave them a 3x flush. might help as salt's build up after a while and lock out the nute uptake. overall your garden's looking great.

No flush yet.. about 5 weeks or so in. Flush with 3x's volume with light nutes or no nutes or ?

Thanks!

Yeah, I don't know, but I'm sure they would be fine with a scrog or maybe a LST to keep em a little shorter and more controllable and more buds even on the light. Faded swears by his FIM and some others like dwarfing. I might have to look more into these methods myself to makes these girls do what I want them to do and keep them in line!
