This will be my first indoor grow as well as first auto. First grow journal too I guess...so a lot of first for me here haha. I've grown for many years out doors, but never indoors. I picked up Bubba Cheese from Hombolt seed organization and Blue Critical from Dinafem. I cracked all ten seeds and 8 made to this point. The girls have just reached day 14 and looking pretty good all things considered.

I'm growing in 3 gallon smart pots in pro mix using AN PH perfect A & B grow and bloom. I've got them under two 100w closet cases from Spectrum king and I'm really excited to see what they can do. I've done a lot of research in to SK and really wanted to get the 400+ but here in Canada it's gonna cost around $1800, so I had to go with the less expensive model for now.

I plan on doing weekly updates or as time permits but would greatly appreciate any advise or tips. I think I already made a minor mistake by soaking the whole pot my first two waters. So it was taking 7-9 days between waterings. I plan on just using less my next water until the roots get a bit bigger. I also gave them a super lite 1/4 feed on their second water with no bad results.

A few pics of the grow so far.

Update: Day 18

Nothing much to report. I gave the blues a drink with 1/4 strength nutrients on day 15. I'm still waiting for the bubba pots to dry out more. It's going on 11 days from when I watered them last, but the pots still feel a bit heavy and the plant's look happy so I'll wait.

On a side note I just wanted to point out how surprised I am by the difference in growth between the girl in the normal 3 gallon, compared to the smart pots. It's very noticeable. I was thinking the smart pots wouldn't make a big difference until the roots got more established, but it doesn't look that way.

They are looking fantastic!
Thanks Dudeski! I concur. The girls are really starting to veg out well now. I'm thinking I might try and ponytail the tops to force the side branches to grow out more.

I'd like to keep them short around 3 feet. because from what I've read on line the closet case only get good light penetration to around that height.

Ponytails are good. You could put a couple of cfl's in there is extra light is needed. I have used them.

Update: day 21

The girls are really taking off, and the blues are throwing some pistils now. I Noticed them around day 19 and I'm even starting to smell a faint skunk funk when first oping the tent in the morning.

I watered the Bubbas with 1/4 nutrients on day 19. (I think I'll go up to 1/2 nutrients on their next water, see how they like that) Compared to the blues the bubbas are stating to take off height wise. Time will tell I guess.

On a side note I should mention I found a bit of light leak last night from my fan in the back left corner. It's very small.....a couple buttons giving of a very faint blue. It hardly cast any light on the pants as I have the fan installed upside down (to save space) But I'm wondering if that will cause any issues with the bubbas? Maybe delay them from showing their sex. Or maybe I need to just take another dab and relax. Haha. Anyway I covered it all up with tape so no more leaking.

I gotta head back to the folks this weekend can't wait to see how much growth the gals can put on when I'm not here obsessively checking on them haha. Gonna give the blues a nice drink with 1/2 nutrients too.
