I'm more than happy to share my limited knowledge with you jhn. Part of that limited knowledge is the fact that those little ones under the cfl's are going to grow right up into them and get some crispy leaves. That will happen quick, Shiva willing. That's why they should be flexible.
One idea: You could raise them back up higher and raise the pots that the little ones are in, with DVD Cases for example, preferably something sturdier. Then as the plants grow upward, instead of unscrewing and refastening the lights, you remove 1 or 2 DVD Cases. So you're lowering the pots instead of raising the lights.

Quick Question everyone, If I raise My HPS will it make the plants stretch a bit for me????? Wanna get some spacing on them didnt know if this would work.

The bigger one now 38 days old and the smaller sprouts are 10
I just gave them all a good feeding of 1/2tsp Grow Big 1/2 tsp Big Bloom...........And the larger lowryder you see just got a dose of 1 Tablespoon Grow Big. And as always they got Blackstrap organic non sulpher mollases in with the mix. I'll put some pics up tonight when I go back to the grow area.

Hello everyone. Well the bigger lady that got stunted is now 11 inches, so atleast I'll get somethin out of her, as you can see shes got some frost goin on, hard to get nice color pics with the lights. The 4th pic is a plant that has 2 leafs curling downwards, was like this even after they were fed yesterday, no discoloration or dry leafs just curled. And the 5th pic is a stunted from what it seems. Maybe genetics, because the rest are thriving and doing great. I have this dresser thats 30 wide, 22 deep and 44 high, was wondering if someone could help me set this up stealth so I do it the right way the first time. Seems like it would make a decent cab, wondering how many I can fit in there and what lights to use, My 400HPS would most likely be too hot for it, so was asking how many CFL's etc, what fans, where to place them etc any help would be greatly appreciated.

Wow! what happened to my followers everyone, I panic when I see no comments, Im just an idiot newbie need everyones assistance as much as possible.

Hey Trifid. I'm having a problem with one plant. It has two of the first true big leafs that yellowed and got kinda crispy, or dry, not all the way. Its been this way for a week and hasnt gotten worse and the 3 or 4 sets of new big leafs are ok, lush green, and its exploding more than the others as far as growth. You can see it in a couple pics a few days back.

Hey Jhn :D Are you using a tailored soil mix? The symptoms you have described generally indicate that you have an undesirable chemistry in the growing medium. It might be the case that your soil is too hot (low carbon to nitrogen ratio) for your plant's nutritional requirements or your stochiometric ratios unbalanced. Incompatibility issues between your soil components (due to their specific ratio) can lead to undesirable changes in soil-salinity and macro-nutrient availability at the root-zone. What phosphorous sources are you using in your soil composition? Are you waiting for the medium to dry thoroughly before irrigating?

Hey jhn, everybody's still here, don't worry. I couldn't give you advice on getting your grow smaller- I'm all full of ideas for getting mine bigger.

Check out what micro.grower does and go from there. He's into the small area stuff and lots of the people that chime in on his thread are as well. You're sure to find some ideas there.

well looking at your setup, checking soil and your nute ratio....the plant in the pic looks like it's possibly getting too hot . are you ph'ing your waterings, also do you ph test your runoff at all, just to see what your soil mix is doing when your nutes interact, and then allow the micro-nutrients which are dormant in your mix to become food. you say your well water...starts at a ph of 6.8...this is too high to start with. but, sometimes by adding your nutes, you do bring down your ph...somewhat. even with very aggressive doses of nutes, you will only lower it by 1.0 in ph. so if you are 6.8 at start, and feeding those nutes, the very least possible for you would be 5.8....which is your ultimate soil ph number to achieve. don't know if you have any ph meter, or drops/strips. i would also recommend an ec/ppm/tds type meter for testing your total dissolved solids in your feed. happy harvesting.

Thank you everyone. Trifid: My soil is Fox Farms trio and the soil is FFOF. And Wild, I was using strips because my 3 year old lost my new PH pen on me, but we found it today But I need some calibration fluid, is there anything I can calibrate it with besides the calibration fluid, just dont want to wait 5 days for it to get here. LOL Noods I hear ya, I'll trade ya cabs, I think I went too big too soon. Today I did the sugar and yeast in the 2 liter bottles for C02, I read that it helps them deal with any excessive heat so I have two bottles going in there that I just put in tonight. I used 1/2 Tsp of yeast to 3 cups brown sugar. Waited to see some bubles in a cup of water before I put them in the cab, so Now they have C02, I hung the hoses above the plants, one on the left hangin off the HPS and one on the right.....And I wait until the soil is pretty much dry before I water, I was overwatering at first so Now Im waiting like every 2 days and the morning of the 3rd I water. Theyve been gettin nutes with every watering along with molasses....How long is the Yeast and sugar thing good for?
