New Grower First AF grow, Northern Lights, Crit Mass, Cr Caramel and Af Kush. Heeya!

Good call, Cap. The only other thing I can add is that something must not be right with that soil. In 81 degree heat I just can't imagine how it's taking that many days for a party cup to dry out. Whatever you do, don't start any more seeds in that stuff. If you can't get your hands on something like Light Warrior, hit Walmart and buy a bag of Jiffy seed starter mix. You want something super light and fast draining for small plants.

Hang in there Squid!

Andy that's exactly what I just said to Squid in the PM lol. To funny. I asked him if he had any mild soil with just perlite transplant into. Went into a lot of detail about soil, transplanting and PH but basically what you just said plus some. Good minds think alike. It's far from over for the Squid. :smokebuds:

Thanks fullauto. Good idea. I think I am going to have to go grab a bag of soil and dolomite lime so I can transplant and add some lime. I will see if I can tomorrow. Thank guys.

Sounds good squidherb. They are ready for a new home. Will be great to watch their progress. I do believe, now, and I water sparingly, that the dry/wet cycle is important. I came across a relatively old article a week or so ago; it is one of the best I have read and I will PM the link to you. If you find it helpful feel free to share it.

They still fighting squid!! Keep at it I'm sure all will be well in the end.......they r kinda cute though lol :)

You would say that Mandy ;) haha. Girls think small things are cute, it's funny to me. I am going to the shop soon to pick up some other containers, probably 1 gal. and some soil and lime probably. I will be performing the transplant after four when they wake up. Wish me luck. I'm going in with a good attitude.

Yo squids,

Before I continue..

The flush took 8 days to dry out.

^^ That's a blatant indictor of something wrong with the pots/medium right there. Little pots like those should take a couple to three days to dry out (ideally). If they're holding onto water so much we can logically deduce a couple of potentials:

1) That the medium itself is shite and is holding onto water.
2) That there isn't enough heat to dry out the soil.
3) That the pot isn't allowing water to drain.

Could be one, two or all three of those things combined. I don't know if anyone's already said that nitrogen could be being locked-out, but if they haven't that's a prime suspect for the stunted growth and crispy leaves and would happen with water-logged soil like yours (the picture tells the story that it's clogged).

If they were mine, the very first thing I'd be doing right now is let those pots dry out properly by increasing the heat in the groom, then adding some nutrients.

IF you can do it, I'd repot them asap into bigger pots with fresh soil with some perlite (the best option right now in my opinion).

Sorry if I'm repeating what others have said but I'm too caned to read through every post right now. ;)

Good luck fella :peace:

Hey there BB. Much thanks. That soil is shite, for cannabis, works great for my veggie garden out back :D I even added perlite to that stuff. Oh well.

The temps stay about 81-82 right now because I haven't had the cash to get my exhaust fan yet, I just leave the tent open with a box fan blowing in right now.

The cup they're in has the bottom cut out of it and it's sitting in another cup, which has drainage holes. So I guess the soil is just crap for growing cannabis. I went and got some Jiffy Seedling mix today, it has peat moss, vermiculite, lime for ph balance, and a wetting agent. Sounds great. They didn't have any plain perlite so I am going to the Depot in a couple hours to get some and mix that into the Jiffy mix. Then I am transplanting them after they wake up. I wanna make sure my ph is back up before I feed them, there would be no point otherwise.

Thanks dude I will update with the transplant info later this evening.

All sounds about right squids. That seedling mix sounds good.. especially if it has wetter included as that really helps it absorb water and also helps it to dry quicker because evapouration is easier with less water suface tension. Peat, perlite, lime, all good too.

Once you transplant them you'll see them perk up in about a week. :peace:
