I suggest cracking seeds if theyre being stubborn. I tried it once because 10 to 15 bucks / bean is too pricey NOT to try everything. Now its become my usual germing practice. Ive had 1/20 not germ from a self made cross (fast buds blue dreamatic x mephisto sour crinkle)I won't ever buy Fastbuds again after my last purchase. Once I get burned like I did with my current purchase of a five pack that not a single seed germinated from, I am done. $10.00 per seed and not a single seed will germinate.
I had a total of 14 breeder packs, 12 from last year. The ones from a year ago were fine, every seed germinated. This year with the new packaging every seed from the Original Skunk line is a dud.
Can't risk my money on bad seeds when there are plenty of other companies that put out quality seeds.
How do you crack them. I saw a mention somewhere about filing them like with a nail file or something. None of the five seeds crack at all as they would when germinating. 16 seeds from other breeders all germed fine. Those were all regular seeds except for one single White Widow seed I have growing.I suggest cracking seeds if theyre being stubborn. Though i understand the frustration, i hope this helps ya in the future
I personally use scissors and an incredibly slow squeeze. I wet the seed for a day then i take it, align the line on the seed with the scissor blades at the joint, then slowly close the scissors until it either audibly cracks or i see the seeds natrural split open n close. Then i set it back for another 12 hours. How do you crack them. I saw a mention somewhere about filing them like with a nail file or something. Tried thinning the shell on two seeds by using a nail file and then soaking in shot glass with water in it. Within 24 hours both seeds cracked and tail just starting to come out. Speeds up the shell taking in water to germinate.I personally use scissors and an incredibly slow squeeze. Im not saying EVERY seed is viable, but ive found since i started cracking that ALL seeds ive paid for have germed. Some may fail after a few days, but they all germ.
