New Grower Fact or bullsh*t ? ATTENTION soil growers !!

The problem with "organic" soup style nutes is that most are NOT 100% organic. They use fillers, growth hormones and even their chelating methods are open to question. This is strictly my opinion but, if you can't hold an organic nute in your hand and KNOW its organic, don't use it!

That being said, I know a lot of people use these nutes and yes they are still a way better choice than manufactured nutes. But by using organic soil mixes, you remove the questions and the hassles, no measuring, no PPM/EC tracking, no PH issues ( of you mix your soil right ). I can get the same results as any nute you can name does, the only difference is with true organics, you might need a bigger pot!

A well bufferd light mix soil and a ph range between 6 and 7 after nutes are added rarely needs attention. but you need to know your on the right track before you head off . If this is the case often no adjustment is necessary.

I can't recommend a well amended organic soil highly enough for a lot of the reasons touched on already in this thread. I've been using a well-researched super soil that Eyes on Fire helped me tweak, and everything I've grown in it (canna and regular plants) has not only thrived in the soil, but hasn't needing feeding until well beyond a month (and my marijuana has never used up all the nutrients in the soil before chop), and I've had no worries with pH. Haven't tested once, and my plants are thriving all around.

Hey pop22 thanks for your input ! This might be off topic but I was searching the net for some info on the soil I use as my growing medium (miracle mix organic potting soil by Isabelle) and stumbled upon a thread you have , where you have used it before . So if you don't mind me asking....I was wondering , first off what do you think of it ? And secondly is there any info that you might know about it , as the bag it comes in does not state much other than "ph balanced " and the people at the nursery look at me like I'm crazy when I ask them
If they know what's in it ...lol ... Do you know if there is any manure of some sort in it ? Or is it just peat and loam mixed with perlite ? I was also curious as to know if you think that it is too hot of a soil to start seedlings for auto flowers in ? I don't have the same experience and knowledge as you have about soils and growing so I was wondering if you could help a brother out especially since you've used the same soil before ... :pass:The only things I amend the Isabelle soil with are extra Perlite and powdered dolomitic lime . Sorry for the bombardment of questions but if you can answer any I would greatly appreciate it ! One love brother and respect ! :peace::jointman:

I gotta call BS on not worrying about ph, like the article states. I grow in a soil-less mix, and the PH drops drastically after one month. Just before this point I begin feeding, and always check ph of my nutes. When I don't, I get ph lock, and the plants get sick. Well, I guess I don't worry about ph, I just make sure my feeding water is within ph range, and no worries. I don't amend my soil mix, so maybe that's my issue. I just use Sunshine mix right out of the bag, and start feeding nute-adjusted water after one month. Super easy, without having to do a bunch of soil mixing. I like to grow, but don't like mixing soil, so it works for me.

Thanks to everyone that shared their thoughts and experiences on this subject ! I'm very interested to hear any others ! :pass:Very much Appreciated ladies and gents ! Respect ! :jointman::peace:
