HARVEST UPDATE!
I woke up to one of the most heavenly smells I've ever experienced. There was a strong scent of apricot with other sweet and fruity aromas I can't quite name. Mango and a bit of citrus, perhaps. I could tell that the 38 hours of darkness had affected the terpenes like I never could've imagined.
Without turning the lights on I opened the cab, took a picture and cut the plant away from her roots. This is supposed to prevent the plant from pumping chlorophyll to the buds. I let her hang for about an hour in the dark cab before I started trimming her. I had to cut her in two in order to get to all the leaves but I guess she'll dry adequately well like that too.
The tripod had given in to the bulky camera and its fully extended lens so the before and after pics aren't as accurate as I wanted them to be. The exposure on the newer photo even ended up a bit darker so the plant actually looked less frosty. :slaps: The trichomes are all there, though.
I really can't see any difference. Maybe it's bulked up but it's nothing that couldn't have been achieved by just keeping up 12/12.
And now the exciting part - Harvest pics!
I didn't get much trim. I'm unsure what I'll do with it. I really don't have the equipment for any kind of hash making and I'm having second thoughts about butter.
The buds, however turned out to be way bigger than I'd anticipated. Still not much, but it should definitely make for a few good smoke sessions. I'm hoping there isn't much chemical taste in them.
I can't really guess the dry weight so I'll just have to wait and see. I'm hoping it'll be at least 5 grams.
She'll get to dry in the cab for 5-7 days. Next weekend I'll store her in a jar with a 62% Boveda pack.
