Everclear tinctures

A4- very interesting! I would have though more variation would be drawn from different strains.

Briman - thanks for the info..i definitely will make sure I wait long enough. I mostly grow indicas and mostly indica hybrids, so this year its going to be some heavy stones. Right now I have a bunch of auto blue mammoth from barneys farm for the first test batch. Doing it tonight for sure! So far the ABM has been the best pain reduction through smoking/vaping I have ever tried!

Yeah, I was glad Bri chimed in because I thought it was just from me smoking too much sativa. I have never really been able to tell the difference at all and you would think you could but it seems like with tinctures they all have the same effect. That was one reason I tagged Eek and Root, they do a lot of tinctures as well and may have some input. To me though, I can never tell the difference between a haze and an indica. Like I originally said though, I don't dose very high either and that could make a difference. Maybe at higher doses you can start differentiating the two from each other.

I could see root and eek being somewhat busy around this time of year. ;)
So I need a good thermometer..made a batch tonight and overcooked(water was reading accurate but alcohol was reading much lower than it should have been) The batch that should have been 35ml was cooked down to 20ml. Testing 1/2ml tomorrow.

I can feel the difference in the way both hit my body. The Indicas come on with a hammer to dull the pain and make me head for the couch and want to relax. The Sativa makes my body feel all tingly with decent pain relief and energetic, lets move or go for a walk feeling. I much prefer the tinctures to smoking/vaping. I love the pain free movement and anti-inflamatory properties of tincs better. Also, dont go thinking throwing more weed in the recipe, is a good idea before you try it the first couple of times! Over indulgence can turn one off it for a while.

Test 1 complete...I took a half mil for a test run this morning. Took at 8:30, and smoked 4 auto blue mammoth bags. Spine aching at 9. By 9:30 I started to feel the effects, and it did ease the pain in my upper spine. I had some physical stuff to do for 2 hours, could still feel the effect and the eased pain. Started to wear off at 11:30, smoked blue mammoth for the rest of the day and got some more stuff done as well as caught a whack of minnows for fishin'.(standing for over 2 hours is harsh on my back/neck) Good day, not pain free but not bad! Thumbs up on tinctures and thumbs up on blue mammoth effects in general.
Taste though wow...not very nice...lol...maybe because I cooked too high? Talk to you guys in a few days.

Sorry it took me so long to get here...
A4 and StickMan have you covered! :pass:
I Love tinctures!

I have never noticed a difference in strains either...but I've never paid attention to it.
Good to know you've done it briman... would be nice to have day time/night time tinctures.

Unless I'm making ECHO (my version of RSO) I do all my reducing or evaporating by cold method.
But when I do heat alcohol...I use an oil bath instead of water.

Test 1 complete...

WoooHooo on test #1
The taste is a bit strong...and I don't drive when I'm taking tincture.
You can mix the tincture with something that tastes good...I use honey or tea??
:tonic:

Here are some candy recipes that use tincture.

@Root - Thanks for the info and the recipes.

Okay full boar test...went fishing for a week. Tincture certainly wasn't a cure all for the pain due to the increased spinal stress from fishing for 7 days straight, but I did find it reduced pain for sure. 1/2ml was working initially but after a few days I upped the dose to 1ml and found it to be quite effective on pain control, even if taken after a meal its effects were quite positive. Not total pain reduction but somewhere around 60 maybe 70% reduction in pain which is excellent in my mind!!

THANKS SO MUCH TO ALL INVOLVED IN THIS THREAD!!! This method could truly be a life saver for those critically injured.

Excellent news my brother! Truly hoped you would find some pain reduction with tincture.

Next, you will have to give Canna Caps a go. I find the Coconut oil infused Cannabis to have a different effect, even with the same strain used for both. For me, I find the oil takes longer to metabolize, but the affects last longer. When pain becomes to much to function at all I will do both. Pain becomes tolerable, but I certainly won't drive after doing both.
:doc1:

Just made some of A4s recipe with a very familiar strain to me (MOB x C99a), but still need to reduce the alcohol volume tomorrow. Will test and report back.

Peace!

I am happy to hear it is working for you and at small doses as well.

Please do give us a report Stick, I would like to hear your thoughts on it. I have some Harle-Tsu, which is about 20:1 CDB, growing right now for tinctures. I am hoping some ultra high CBD has a marked reduction in pain without the high. If so I plan on using it before and during work to get through those days when I have difficulty walking. I will be giving an update as well. They are 7 days into flower now so another couple of months on them.
