Live Stoner Chat Electronic Cigarettes - Smokless Smokes.

Buddy of mine switched to Blu; an e-cigarette ... he had smoked for about 40 years ... he was able to drop from 2-3 packs a day to less than a pack a week using the Blu cig ... vapor was thick w/ zero cig smell ... you can vape tobacco ... the temps are much lower than for weed

That's quite convincing. I totally know what you mean about quitting. I tried once, I went a whole week. But eventually I gave in, somehow persuading myself haha. The whole devil vs angel on my shoulder type thing.

Anyways, yeah that thing looks pretty bad ass. I've also read how it produces a lot of vapor, which I definitely need. I like to feel as if I'm smoking, sort of the reason as to why I couldn't get into the disposables. If i'm not mistaken they're only around $60? That's not bad at all. I think I'll definitely give it a shot this next paycheck, I'm really tired of spending all my damn money on cigs lol.

I paid more for my L-Rider - $CDN 139 for the Rider, two rechargeable batteries (and the charger), two CE5+ clearomizers, a bottle of juice and a case to carry it in.

I figured I could find a better deal on the net - but I wanted it before I left for work and was willing to pay for the convenience of walking out of a store with everything I needed.

Some online shopping should find you a pretty good deal, if you're not in a rush.

Great to hear your friend found an alternative, Chester!
I tried vaping some Colt tobacco in my Iolite - but didn't really like the way it tasted. I've read that unless you are purchasing organic, additive free tobacco to vape - that you are still receiving the chemicals that have been added to provide an even burn and quicker entry into one's bloodstream.

Still - it's no doubt still better for him than inhaling the product of combustion - good for him - 40 years is a very long habit to break!

I've been using an e-cig for almost four years now, and I've loved every minute of it. I didn't even mean to quit my ~20 year habit, I just didn't want to have to go outside in the middle of a vicious winter to smoke while at work. I did weeks of research, found a good deal, and have never looked back. They're one of the greatest inventions ever as far as I'm concerned.

Honestly, I've tried e-cigs on a few occasions. Mainly just the disposable ones, though. Needless to say, that bad boy was gone within a day, maybe less. I suppose it's because I was so intrigued with it and played around a bit haha. I'm always telling myself I need to quit...I hate that I smoke. How much is a weeks supply (minus the e-cig of course) of the cartridges?

The cheap, disposable ones are almost never enough to do the trick. They don't have much power (they're unregulated low-voltage devices), the batteries don't last long, and the liquids are usually pretty poor quality. They're also pretty low in nic-content; you want to start as high as you feel is necessary (I started at 36mg/ml), or those cravings won't disappear. I also buy my liquids and supplies in bulk, so I don't think I even spend $20 a month on vaping as an average.

If you want to give e-cigs a real shot, I could give you some info. I don't want to convince anyone of anything, but I'll help if I can.

Without getting too detailed, the regulated, variable power devices are the best shot. And juices made with mostly-VG (vegetable glycerin) will produce thick, voluminous clouds of vapor. PG-based liquids are often considered better for flavor, but don't produce as much vapor or 'throat hit'. I use 100% VG liquid myself, but I like my flavors strong so that helps. And you could get a real decent setup for ~$60, as long as you're not hung up on having something that looks like a cigarette. You could still find a good look alike device at that price, but you'd probably either move on and spend more on another device sooner than later or swear they don't work and leave them alone.

Four years! Nice one - I really am a day late on this!

Good call on the variable voltage - I don't have anything to compare mine to - other than the disposables - but I do like being able to control how much "burn" there is.

Do you mix up your own flavors?

My first two bottles of juice were 100% PG - an order I just received is 70% PG and 30% VG and I'm liking it better than the strictly PG juice.

I'll try 100% VG with my next order - partly because of your recommendation, and partly because I've been reading about the possible health impacts of PG (the most alarming report I read cited that many cancerous tumors were found to contain PG molecules in unaltered form).

Thanks for all the great info, Ratatoskrhttps://www.autoflower.org/members/ratatoskr.html!

No problem at all, if I can be any help just let me know. You're not late for anything, just finding them at all is all that counts when it comes to quitting smoking. If anything, this is the best time to be new to vaping, there have never been as many options, more suppliers, or better prices for folks just getting into it before now. When I first started there was almost nothing but cig-alikes, and everything was cheap Chinese stuff that would break if you looked at it cross-eyed. I don't mix my own very often, the place I buy most of my liquids from is priced at about what homebrewing liquids would cost, so unless I want something special (like VG-only cinnamon menthol, or extra strong rootbeer float) I don't usually bother. I do 20-30% PG for some nice treat-vapes (one of my standby vendors makes great butterfinger and bananas fosters liquids), but my every-day liquids are all 100% VG. One thing to keep in mind as you vape more is to make sure you drink more water, the base liquids will both dehydrate you a bit if you're not careful.

Good info, Ratatoskr.

I just found a supplier that has some interesting tobacco flavors in 100% VG - available in a sample pack - that I believe I'll give a try.

So many choices - ha ha!

Interesting about the dehydration - I remember reading about that and thinking that it surely couldn't be more dehydrating than smoking - but I'm finding that I do need to drink more water than I usually do.
I've also found that - even on days when I don't necessarily hydrate more than I did before I started vaping - I'm urinating about twice as often as I usually do.
Maybe its not related - and I should get my prostate checked again - ha ha!

Yikes! For your sake I hope it's just the vaping! I hope you find something you like in that sampler, having a few liquids to rotate through throughout the day/week keeps your taste buds fresh, otherwise you'll probably stop tasting a flavor and may not be getting as much nic as you'd like. Azure Vaping has some great tobacco flavors in all VG (their caramel tobacco and DK tobacco haven't my side for over 2 years), and they're cheap as hell (that's where I get most of my liquids from), and they're good people. I don't think they do sample packs at the moment (a flood took out their newly-built lab a while ago, so they stick to larger volume at the moment), but they're still cheaper than many. And if you really don't like a liquid, most of the forums have trade/sales/pay-it-forward sub-forums that will usually make sure you're not stuck with something awful.

Wow - that is cheap! I haven't found any in my country that charge less than three or four times more than that!

Too bad the cross-border shipping charge is so high - but, I suppose if I ordered in quantity it would still be cost effective. Thanks for the heads-up on that retailer.

My urinating frequency is back to normal - and I'm thinking it was an adjustment thing - probably too much info, ha ha!

An interesting aside - I came across a half pack of Colts in my glove-box, the other day (purchased just before I bought the vaporizer - so not very old) - and decided to try one.

I had two puffs and put it out - the taste and smell were repulsive.

I've been off butts for a month in the past - and lighting one up after that length of time was like putting flame to the most delicious combustible imaginable! Absolute ambrosia!

Imagine my surprise (and a delightful surprise, at that!) when I couldn't stand to puff even half of it - apparently I won't be tempted back to Colts anytime soon.

Ah, I forgot not everyone on the internet is local to me. If you find some flavors you like enough for your every day vape, the shipping would probably be more than worth it. I have a half-liter of their liquids not 15 feet from me, and they've been my EDV since they came around. I don't think you'll find cheaper; most places think charging .30-.50 per ml is good pricing, so they're rare. And if you like VG their quality is top notch. Sucks that they'd be a pain to order from, especially to some European countries. Where do you need them shipped to?

Glad to hear the peeing worked out for you lol. And I know exactly what you mean about the taste and smell of smoking after all that time. I went to a memorial service after about a year, and was trying to smoke with some family members because I didn't have spare batteries available. They smelled and tasted so bad I wanted to choke. I have a hard time even being around smokers some days. That smell like burning hair, wet farts, and odd chemical spills... I can't believe I used to smell like that lol.

Goos thread, I quit a few months ago after 23 years of smoking.
Best move ever, was spending 18 quid on baccy every 2 or 3 days. I never bothered with the ecigs you can buy but went straight to a variable voltage vapouriser, fantastic bit of kit, I have not missed smoking one bit, all I miss is passing a joint around, I use a pipe and one of the herbal vapourisers, a Vapir one I think its called.
I like the coffee flavours mixef with vanilla, srawberry, orange and butterscotch I think are among my favourites.
The tobacco flavoured liquids are among the most vile flavours imagineable, they actually taste worse than real fags.
Not had any side effects other than I can walk up Dartmoors unfeasibly steep hills without panting like an asthmatic octogenarian and smelling like a wet foxes arse.
