these are some photos of my grow space which i built to look as much as a normal wardrobe/cupboard as possible. theres no way i could get away with a grow tent!
these are from a while back before it was finished. i'm not a diy guy, and it took me a while to get it built, and even now i'm making changes! i might be taking the front doors off and using that wood to build a small veg room, and building some new better doors for this main one. that ducting is now attached to a hole in the side of the grow-drobe and not sticking out the door! there is of course now handles on the doors, and hinges!
its basically a planed softwood frame, with melamine covered chipboard for the front doors, and mdf for the back, sides and top. its about 2 meter tall, split between a 40cm bottom area for the ballasts, contactor, timers, plugs, input fan etc, and a 160cm tall area for the plants. its about 100cm by about 90cm deep. i was limited to what size i could fit into that area
since the photos, i've put mylar up, which i then took down and put up rockwool acoustic insulation, to try and keep the noise of everything to a minimum. once i've worked out my plans for the second veg space, i'm going to order some the new wood and get some thin hardboard to encase the acoustic insulation against the mdf, then i can put the mylar back up properly (its just hanging up a the moment!)
the setup, i've got 1 250w mh for veg, 1 400w hps for flower - although with our current hot weather i've bought a 250w hps bulb for flowering, but as soon as the cooler weather comes, the 400w hps is going back in!
i'm using two 4" rck fans, one to bring air in and one attached to a carbon filter to extract air out. i built boxes for both the rck's and lined them with acoustic insulation. i'm going to get some acoustic ducting. i've been looking into silencers as well, but the size of them means i probably won't be able to use one. but as it is, the sounds isn't too bad.
as first, i underestimated the size of the plants, so ended up just keeping 5, and this time i've just got 4.
ok ... how do i add pictures?!
