TOKE OUT

Week 3

So week three has passed at last, and I have had some serious illness in my crop for the first time in three grows.

My Dinafem Critical Jack is the one that's in the pics thats worst off. Serious spotting and necrosis. I'm thinking it was CalMag def and added some today, so we'll see if that helps. My Dinafem Amnesia is starting the spotting, which is also shown in the pics. It's still light green spots though, not full on necrosis. The two Buddha Purple Kush's in the middle are the shortest, but fullest and healthiest of the bunch. Finally, the pics of my Joint Doctor's Diesel Ryder are included as well. They are healthy as well.

Flushed system on Wed. and ran 150ppm water and H202 for two days. Yesterday, I added mico, grow, and bloom in very small amounts(45mL each). Today, I added 25mL more of grow and bloom. Running at 450ppm now.

Any advice about the necrosis problem would be greatly appreciated. After research, I think it was Cal. But same symptoms occur with phosphorus and potassium def according to my book. I'm stumped  and don't wanna lose these girls so fast. HELP! :help:

I get that right at the same time too. It's a calcium deficiency as far as I know (I treat it like one, and it goes away).
Seems the plants start to eat up calcium right after they show sex. Calcium isn't very mobile in the plant, so it will take a few days after you correct it for it to get any better.
Not sure what PH you're running, but I drop my ph to 5.5-5.6 and only let it drift to 5.8 before adjusting back down and it seems to take care of it after about a week.

Peace.

Thanks for the feedback Tav! I did correct for the deficiency and pulled the pH down to between 5.5-6.0, at least my testing chemical turned an orangy-yellow. I was unaware that the same problem was affecting others. You are right that the show of sex was right in time with the deficiency. I am posting week 4 right now, tell me what you think. I believe that they've bounced back somewhat, they're still growing at least.

Week 4

Hello everyone. Back with the week 4 update. I treated the water last week with a healthy dose of CalMag and went real light with the nutes for two days. On about Tuesday, I went ahead and mixed in some more micro(45mL), grow(45mL0, and bloom(60mL) with some floralicious vegan compost tea(45mL).

The plants have responded well as far as I can see. Many bud sites appearing now, another 2 or 3 inches in vertical growth. The color is a real nice deep green right now, except for the previously affected older leaves. Also, I went ahead and dropped in the 400W HPS last night and cranked the power setting up on my ballast to 400W+(17% additional lumens or something like that). It's a Hortilux Super HPS, cost double my MH bulb!

Here's some MariPorn for yall.20130318_163145.jpg20130318_163221.jpg20130318_163208.jpg20130318_163154.jpg

They look Awesome Man! Seemed to recover nicely.

You know, if you ever were inclined to tie those girls down, and throw a screen over em, right now would be the time. :D
I just love running Scrog. You get nothing but huge colas. Yield definitely goes way up too.
If you were ever so inclined.....
Just sayin... lol.

Peace.

Hydro, glad I peeked in, Super clean nice setup. Make em go Boom!!!

:peace:

What's my best resource for Scrog? I really don't know anything about it. I have seen the net before in other setups but didn't know what it was for. I'd like to try anything that can help. Thanks!

Basically you put a screen about 1 foot above the base of your plants.
Instead of letting your plants grow up straight through the net you bend them over as they grow and train them to grow sideways.
Once you do this your plant will put off many more budsites. You continue to do the same thing with all the new shoots on the plant.
Keep tucking them back under the screen as they grow out, and move them into a space where there are no bud sites.
The goal is to keep your canopy nice and even. You are redirecting auxins and turning all your budsites into main colas.
The colas all get the same amount of light which leaves you with a nice even carpet of huge, heavy, dense colas instead of only 1 main cola per plant with smaller buds, and scraggily shit.
Will easily double your yield.

You can check out My, and Hazy's growlogs as well to see how it works.

Peace.
