Easy Ryder Not Doin' So Hot

ya true i can get distilled from walmart pretty easy ive heard people say something about osmose or reverse osmose water something like that which is supposed to best or whatever not too sure just remember hearing walmart has it haha pretty much im just waitin to get a ph meter or testers and then nutes for in a week and 2 days to begin a light feed schedule...

RO water is said among growers to be the best, If it is I can't vouch, but I will say FD's method of charging the water with o2, DOES work and Amazingly at that!

yep ive heard same things so i might just go with that just to get it flushed real good and transplant tomorrow. hopefully that gets the growth and leaf coloration and plant health back on track then end goal is im really wanting to try to get an ounce or more and id be completely happy so im praying i do this grow right cause this is my first auto but second total cultivation attempt the first was just bagseed that turned out to be 1 male and i figured out too late and pretty sure it polinated the females right before they were supposed to go into flowiering so ditched the whole thing and ended up moving anyways lol

Okay so here are two pictures from today, the 20th day since they broke ground. So they're basically three weeks at this point and I just transplanted with fresh FFOF and watered with distilled water to flush after not watering for about 4 days which gave her a good few days to dry out some.

This morning when I first checked her I saw that the rust spots were starting to show on the middle leaf of the upper fan sets too. Kind of weird how only the middle leaf of the fan sets have the rust spots, otherwise she is looking healthy a put about 2 drops of Superthrive in the water i fed with to hopefully avoid the plant going through as much shock as possible if it helps the root system any.

I'll probably start feeding at the end of next week which will be week 4. Any words of advice on anything that i should change, do differently, or add at this point or the rest of the grow really would be much appreciated!

You stay classy San Diego ;)

.......anybody out there? C'mon afn show some love to the new guy :/

Do you have any way of checking your PH ron?

Does your soil dry out fast or does it stay wet for a while?

no not yet i should have a way though after this weekend when i get paid upon which ill get a ph meter and bloom nutes

the soil tends to dry out in 3 days maybe a little more but i generally water about every 4 now to let it get pretty dry. as of today she is 23 days old and all the fan leaves upper and lower have these rust spot even the small fan leaves torwards the top of the cola so to speak.

the soil is pure FFOF nothing else like perlite or anything mixed in. i wonder if the soil is clumping up or something maybe theres root rot?

Unfortunately there's not much we can tell you right now until you can figure out the pH situation. FFOF does have a tendency to compact sometimes, but that would be late in the grow, not in the first few weeks. Lots of people use it without adding perlite, so I don't think that's the problem. I don't want to alarm you, but my first grow started out with the rust spots also and I waited a couple of weeks before getting pH under control. Unfortunately the damage was done and I lost most of the large fan leaves, and my final cured harvest was just under an ounce for two plants. Potency was still good, though. Sometimes you get lucky and things just work without ever needing to test, but that wasn't the case for me.

The only recommendation I could give is to get some epsom salts from the drug store and mix 1 tbsp to a gallon of water. Mist the leaves to give it a foliar feeding just before lights out. Maybe the magnesium will help a little before you can test your pH runoff. But until you can test pH, putting more nutes into the soil could be making a bad situation worse. I'm guessing that you are so out of range that the plant won't be able to eat any food you give it.

yeah thats all a very good possibility therell def be nute lock and i wouldnt feed until i could check my ph for sure but some epsom salt would do more good than bad definitely i agree so are you saying if anything this looks like a magnesium deficiency or cal/mag?

here are a few pics from today, i germed the seed feb. 1st planted feb. 3rd and the it broke ground feb. 5th so as of today the plant is 3 weeks and 2 days and showing a few good bud sites...
