If you like your weed moister just bag on day 6. I personally like to bag on day 7 because the weed is dry enough to grind in a grinder but I know some people like to cut their weed with scissors. It burns clean on day 6 or 7 so it's just personal preference. You will be able to tell when it is the right moisture content while mixing the buds by hand.

Thanks for the description. Bag drying works a treat, and it is nice to hear that you are getting the results you like.

I have dried my weed this way and others - I think all work fine if you get it right, and all can screw up if you don't.

The bag method is still potentially sensitive to ambient RH and air circulation, although maybe not as sensitive as hanging or screen drying are. Seven days at your conditions could translate to more or less in someone else's. I don't have enough experience to know what the boundaries are, but would be interested in others' impressions. I think the main risk might be higher humidities, perhaps >75% or so, at which point I suspect even the bag method might be safer with some added warmth or dehumidification.

At my current state of early learning, I prefer bag drying when dealing with any hint of bud rot in the grow, because I prefer to trim to individual buds to check each one for signs of mischief. I dried on screens to deal with this in my first grow, and the buds dried too quickly.

My first indoor grow last winter was completely clean so I hung the trimmed branches in a cardboard box ducted into the tent, and controlled the RH in the box by adjusting the amount of air flow through it. The control over RH permitted me to keep the RH initially on the low side to get drying started, and then higher to extend the dry process safely. I will likely stick with the box method for my grow this winter, but the bag alternative is definitely still in play.

Thanks again for your post, and enjoy that bud! :pighug:

What kind of humidity do you guys have in your house when you curing these? It averages 30% in my house. Too low?

Before we moved last year, I had a cabin to dry in so I always hung them and dry trimmed, and was skeptical about the bag method.

I just tried this for my first time as i ran out of hanging room. I did 3 bags and hung them up, single layer on the bottom of a bag after a wet trim. Hung for 5 and 6 days. I'd give them a very light shake once a day but didn't open to check them until the fifth day.

My temps were in the low to mid 70's and RH hovered around 50% for the bags during drying.

I am impressed with the dry and will do it again. Give it a shot with a few flowers and see how it goes.
