Alright guys this is first go at dwc and cant seem to keep my ph in check. Im setting ph @ 5.6-5.8 but the next morning its shot upto high 6's. Im using dutch pro hydro nutes, a 60ltr min pump between 3 18ltr buckets. Please help me out as i dont no what im doing wrong.

Good morning DW1...DWC ph issues are really frustrating. I know...maybe a few tips will bring the ph back in line ....

1. cool your reservoir....add frozen bottles of water....refreeze and replace when they thaw.
2. cool your reservoir...put your air pump in a small fridge (you have a fridge for seed storage and to keep your choice of beverage cold right? ) .
3. change the reservoir water weekly, after the plants have taken the nutrients out of solution...the ph will start to edge upwards
4.make sure your ph tester is accurate...my nutra-drip tri-meter won't give an accurate reading when my HPS light is on.

I'm sure others will chime in with more tips, but this should get you started....enjoy!!

Thanks for the advice mate, will defo try putting frozen bottles water in the res as it does get pretty warm in there. Goes upto 26 in the res when it gets really warm in the tent. My pump is outside the tent but dont think i could go sticking it in the fridge though lol. My ph tester isnt great but its all i could afford just now, i check its colaberated almost every day tho.
So does heat raise the ph then chap?

If there is any slim on the inside of the bucket at water level....you caught the brown slim and PH will be uncontrollable without switching to a tea.

I don't know if heat raises the ph directly, but when I got res temps under control I noticed alot less sediment on the bottom of the res and the ph stayed in bounds.

the brown slime cres refers to is pure evil...it suffocates the roots, starves the plant. I gave up on DWC when I lost a battle with it. I tried H2O2(peroxide) ,hygrozyme....nothing worked to save some precious genetics I was so proud to own.

No brown slime as of yet thank god but the roots did look slightly brown just in one place.

look again right where the water line is.. if there is brown in your root ball... start reading on tea... you need earthworm castings and a can of great white buble for 24hrs and apply weekly... I would never do hydro/dwc ever again without tea, so many good things other than killing the slime...

Good advice up there bro.. I answered your post on my thread basically saying the same thing... Good luck & get those res temps down.. :wiz:
