yaaay! no ph spike in the grodans! my obsessive week of cleaning them worked : )
im itching to start turning the lights on now but i want another week under the cfl before i start crankin it all into gear. my leds are no good for seedlings. ive started about 7 under them now and all been slower compared to this.
the a/u has taken a slight beating from the light and fan being a bit too close but other than that were all good. gonna start adding the a+b veg nutes tomorrow at 20% wich ill just spray onto the cubes with a wee bottle. getting some nice roots already too so shouldnt be long till the party starts and i can get those nfts fired up.
right troops, its update time.
grodans have dried out now, sitting at about 20% saturation so its time to get my beast on!!!
ionic 2ml/L (last dosage of this)
d/pro hydro grow a+b 1ml/L each
d/pro take root 0.25ml/L
d/pro multitotal 0.4ml/L
calgmag with added iron and nitrogen 0.4ml/L
sm-90 0.5ml/L
this concoction adds up to 550ppm (always including the 68ppm of my tap water) and has been sprayed onto the grodans to about 40% saturation. im going by hand weight but im fairly confident.
ive poured my buckets of water for the nft res' wich will be left for 36 hours to rid of any chlorine. the nfts will be turned on once thats ready, filled with the same solution detailed above.
yaaaaayy at last!!
day 14 and the nfts up and running. first of the 270w leds is up aswell. sitting at 31" just now. ill lower it an inch every other day till she starts sweating. sure it was 28" last time so gotta be careful.
first propper feed consists of
dutch pro
take root 0.4ml/L
multitotal 0.4ml/L
hydro grow a + b 1ml/L each
+
calmag 0.3ml/L
liquid silicone 0.3ml/L
sm90 0.5ml/L
ph 5.8
400ppm
they dont look as big now that theyre planted but theyre all growing well. the runt big bud in the dwc has just about caught up to the a/u in the last 2 days so liking the system, so far anyway.
theyll have a day or 2 to adjust to their new surroundings then its O WITH THEIR HEADS!!!
it is and it isnt mate. a lot of people are put off hydro because it seems complicated but theres more thought goes into a batch of organic soil than there is in my full grow. its easy once the pennies drop. easiest grow method to fix problems with too. if i poison them or leave them with defs i can simply take out or add more with 100% instant control over what they eat. i can add as much oxygen to the roots as i want, control the temperature of the roots. and best of all, once the roots are well established its pretty much impossible to overfeed them too unless your really trying. i was blasting my last lot at 1700ppm for the last month and they were taking the lot. not a bit of nute burn to be seen. can also leave them alone for a time if you have to. like i could easy ignore them for a week right now if the light wouldnt fry them. only downside is you use a wee bit more leccy... but your plants are twice the size : )
Aye, I know I miss out on yield maybe one day ille read up and come up with some soil, hydro, bubble thing hybrid lol I pretty much think you can do that sure I seen one in the past, you do know my 3ltr pot is gonna kick your arse in the mephisto comp ,,OK ille take that back!

its not as easy to get the yield in soil but it it can be done mate. go take a look at some of jingos triumphs. hes grows monsters. and his plants do bore me but tangs an awesome guy to follow aswell, smashes it every time. theres quite a few guys can do it big in soil. just seems to be more towards the pros. put the study hours in though mate and you can do it.
and regarding the mephisto grow im going in it to win it like. go hard or go home. dont know what the prizes are yet but should be some good shit up for grabs and im tight as fook n love freebies lol
