Dutch Passion Dutch Passion multi-strain in soil under LED. My 12th grow.

Hello,

I had been using Caliber IV for a year when I had decided to buy two more Caliber 3 and some Boveda 62 to test them.

After 48 hours in Boveda 62% RH jar they showed:

Caliber 4 - 59%
Caliber 3 - 66 %
Caliber 3 - 67 %.

So I returned two quite expencive new bought Cal.3 to Amazon and got refunded.

I still use Caliber 4 but I do not trust it any more.

Just like a pH meter, a hygrometer needs to be calibrated. This is done at the factory at a specific temperature, typically 10, 15 or 20 C, and at a specific humidity level, say 80%. Move outside this calibration range, and accuracy goes out the window. Its the nature of the beast.

Hi. I have been growing in 6 litre air pots in a similar size tent. Was thinking about going smaller so will watch with interest. Good luck. ☺

Great choices, wish i done a pick and mix now. Dp white widow is on my wish list :goodluck:

Thanks for comments all :)

So, how do we calibrate a hygrometer at a known RH, we need another hygrometer, now we're in an infinite loop! ;+}

I compared her against a DHT11 sensor, which is accurate to 5%, the CIV is accurate to 1% in the same range, they differed by 2% so i'm happy.

Cheers,

steely

Forgot to post update!

The AKR has nearly shed her seed shell :

The StarRyder is not far behind :

The AWW may have not survived my ballsup with the root riots :

The Taiga #1 may have suffererd the same fate :

I'll give the AWW and the Taiga until the morning to have improved, if they haven't by then, i'm going to soak two more AWW and plant the seeds directly into soil.

peace and out broskis and siskis :)

Seriously, it is actually quite easy to check accuracy and calibrate or get a correction factor, salt, water and a plastic bag
