Hi all,

my 11th grow was a fail so i binned her and have moved on.

I've gone back to soil for the moment since my light (Prakasa 200W full-spectrum COB) is underpowered for the vigorous growth that Hydro results in.

For this grow (all autos) :

1. Strains :

DP Star Ryder - http://www.dutch-passion.nl/en/cannabis-seeds/product/starryder/
DP Auto White Widow - http://www.dutch-passion.nl/en/cannabis-seeds/product/auto-white-widow-autoflowering-seeds/
DP Taiga #1 - (no longer on the website so here's the blurb on #2) http://www.dutch-passion.nl/en/cannabis-seeds/product/taiga/
World of Seeds Afghan Kush Ryder - (i know, it ain't DP, it snuck in somehow!) http://www.worldofseeds.eu/wos_en/afghan-kush-ryder-3238.html

2. Environment :

Secret Jardin DS90 rev. 2.5 (a much better version than previous SJ DS90s, stronger bars, better material, stitching etc), 3x3 feet at the base and 5'8" high.

Prakasa 200W full-spectrum COB LED light, real draw 192W.

Plagron light-mix organic soil.

Four, three-litre air pots.

Plant Magic Oldtimer's organic nutes.

In addition to the organics i'll be using bio-silicon :

Also some calmag to protect against the usual LED deficiencies.

3. Method.

a) Put each seed in a container of lukewarm, filtered water in a warm dark place until seed drops.
b) When seeds drop, place them in damp paper towel wrapped in clingfilm then put in warm dark place until taproot shows.
c) When taproot shows place seeds in riot cubes in propagator.
d) When taproot is exiting cube, place whole thing in final pot.

The seeds are in their little pots (forgot to put Taiga seed in at first, as you can see from the photo!

The soil is soaked and the pots are ready and waiting :

Looking forward to using soil again, also looking forward to the balancing act these four girls will necessitate what with their slightly differing nute requirements.

Hoping to get 4 ounces, i know the StarRyder can pull an ounce in a 2L pot so hoping the extra litre of soil will be enough to get an ounce each from the other three.

Cheers for reading!

Looks fun ,good luck juggling those strains .

Salutations...

You seem to have everything in order though I do believe you should give the ladies permission to go larger than 1oz per plant if they wish... law of attraction and all that... and good luck with the grow karma sent your way...

Toodle pip....

:tiphat:

ps. Nice choice of strains...

Hello Mr Ganjamoto!

Thank you, Sire, for visiting this humble rat's garden, your pleasing presence is a perfect pleasure :)

I hope to honour your Highness with the fruits of my labour.

good to see you popping the seeds again steely. Its all looking pro in your tent these days :) Enjoy

Cheers Elvis and thanks Tony :)

The girls have cracked and been transferred to riot cubes.

Next time i'll go straight into riot cubes after the seed has sunk, because taproots don't often grow in a straight line so they were hard to place in the cubes after removing from the paper towels.

You can see that the Taiga was especially curly-wurly!

Hello, wish you good luck.

Until 10 days ago I had also germinating on paper towel and had waited for long sprouts (1-2 cm) before going into soil. Last seed was planted directly from bag to soil and was 1-2 days faster in development, what is definitelly not bad, maybe it brings less stress to plants, who knows, but it can not be bad at all, especially for autoflowers.

I think germinating on wet towel comes from past times when seeds did not always sprout and would be wasting time and money preparing soil for all of them.
