Indoor Dugan's first Journal: Two Blue Mystic

Yes, but near the soil it is not exact that you pull, you just not allow any movement near the roots when you bend at the top (I tied near the soil first). So you bend near the top and there will be no movement near the soil. In my picture, to the right you see a blue shoe lace near the soil (without pulling but the string is very tight) ; to the left you see the bending near the top. In this way there is no stress to the roots. Hope it is clear.

Thanks Boikola. That makes sense. Probably too late for this plant but my next girl will be grateful for your post.

Boikola,
The picture you posted really helped. I've seen videos and photos of screws and holes in pots. I thought that was a little too much work but the rope around the pot worked wonderfully. It was a simple and temporary solution. Now I can tie down my girls from any spot on the pot.

One winning trick I picked up is to use pipe cleaners and small binder clips. Pipe cleaners are easy for wrapping around branches and the binder clips can affix the other end to the rim of the pot. Easy, cheap and works on solid and fabric pots.

Great minds think alike. I was using a binder clip but I only had one in the house and was too lazy to go to the store for more. I think I'll pick some more up. Who'd have thought the office supply store would be as useful as the hydroponic store?

Day 26 Update

I was going to wait until 4 weeks but I had to upload a photo of the pre flower on plant 01. plant_01_Day26_b_20150326.jpg. That is a pre-flower, right?
Here they are side by side:SideBySide_Day_26.jpg Plant 01 is on the left.
Everyone seems to have interesting nicknames for their plants. I have Plant zero one and plant zero two. Oh well, It helps me identify them. Putting a zero in front is wishful thinking that some time I'll have more than 9 growing.

Day 30 Update

Did sixth feeding today. Here's a feeding History:
3/10/2015
First watering since planting. Each plant 2 liters ph 6.23 - 6.3 tap water that was sitting for a few days. Genhydro BioThrive Grow 4-3-3 2ml per 2 liters added just before feeding.

3/15/2015
Second watering. 1 liter per plant, 500 ml bottom, 500 ml top. Genhydro BioThrive Grow 4ml per 2 liters

3/18/2015
Third Watering. 1 liter per plant, 500 ml bottom, 500 ml top. Genhydro BioThrive Grow 4ml per 2 liters.

3/22/2015
Forth Watering 1 liter per plant all in bottom. Genyrdro bioThrive 4ml per 2 liters and Genhydro CaMg 2ml per 2 liters.

3/26/2015

Fifth Watering 1.6 liters per plant. 1.1 liter bottom, .5 liter top. Genyrdro bioThrive 4ml per 2 liters and Genhydro CaMg 2ml per 2 liters.

3/30/2015

Sixth watering 2.5 liters per plant 1.5 bottom, 1 top. Genhydro bioThrive 8 ml per 4 liters and Genhysdro CaMG 4 ml per 4 liters.

In all cases except the first PH after nuts added around 6.4 give or take a couple of hundreds. One of my favorite YouTubers grows in ProMix HP and he likes 6.4, but his plants are photoperiod.

Here are a few pictures:

Plant 02 close up of burnt tips plant_02_Day30_b.jpg.
I let 02 get too close to the T5. When I checked this morning it was maybe an inch from the lights. i've been keeping the light about 2-3 inches above the top shoot. I'll hang the light at an angle to get it closer to lower shoots. None of the other leaves have tip burn so I don't believe it's a nutrient burn issue.

Plant 02 has been the runt since about day 5. I don't see much pre-flower on her but 01 has lots of pre-flowers. Oh well, I guess that means I won't have to harvest them at the same time. I've also been a bit rougher with 02. I damaged a few fan leaves during LST and a couple of leaves ended up sitting on the surface under the canopy. I know you're not supposed to defoliate autos but I was concerned with mold and they weren't getting any light so I pulled them off. I probably pulled off 4 maybe 5 leaves in total. I haven't pulled any leaves off 01.

Anyway, Happy Growing.
