Extraction Dudeski and the Vape

I did prepress but didnt weigh any buds. Just pulled nicest ones from the top of the jar. Funny, my best return was when I pressed 3 of the already pressed pucks together for a second run. And it was still clean! May need to run a bit longer. Has temps set on 210. Working with it afterwards is a sticky mess.
It has been warm in the garage for me so I have been going inside the house to gather the resin. I put the parchment on my granite counter tops and it becomes more manageable. Also put your tool and the parchment in the freezer for 5 minutes helps.

Put it in just after pressing? Using the granite is smart!

I believe it was @Mañ'O'Green who uses pie pans with freezer packs between them as a surface to work on while collecting rosin after it’s been pressed. He’s either got pics or a video somewhere showing how he does it, seemed like a great idea.

He certainly did post that. I will have to get a way to cool things down, it is hot out in my shop. Thanks bubbles!

I have a 9 inch and a 7 inch pie pan with cold packs sandwiched in between and held tight against the inside top of the larger pan. This gives me a cold surface to work on for about 45 minutes. Rosin that is too sticky to work at room temperature collects easily when worked on the cold pan. originally I used the surface of the smaller pan but it works better on the bigger one.

The learning curve to handle rosin is steep. I lost so much before I got it down. Once it is on your fingers it is lost. I tried everything and finally just washed it off with ISO. Once it gets on a textured surface it is lost. You see the tool I use to pick it up off the parchment then wipe it into a small silicone container. Then to clean the tool heat it with a propane lighter by warming it a bit and wiping it into the silicone container. Put the silicone container in the freezer and try to never touch the rosin again.

2 hours! It sure is fun to see how it presses the rosin out. Looking forward to using this. The 6 ton bench press isnt expensive. I bet you can build a rig for 200 bucks or less

With tools and the skills to use them you can make a press from scratch for < $200. read my DIY rosin press thread in my signature.

Matching a prepress to your plates is critical to a good yield. I go over this in the DIY thread also.

I did read your thread, twice. Got the harbor freight press and a set of plates. I'm glad you posted the pics of the cooling tray, just what was needed! Thank you.
