Grow Mediums Duckster's 2nd DWC

Yeah I figured that I'd do one more hydro grow in the cab before I switch over to a tent in Jan. TK is high on my wish list. Ripleys OG is high on the list too but Mephisto is always out of stock. Decided to do the TK with the skystomper since they are both small and quick.

Yep TK was compact and nice and quick, with the monster cola good to go on Day 64 with a fair amount of amber trichs on show. You gonna have fun with this one mate ;)

My new Wilma arrived today. Opened it up to take a look. Seems well built and durable. 18L are some big ass pots. They are as big as the 7gal airpots that I use for tomatoes. Should be able to grow some monsters in those. The only bad thing is the pump that came with it is 230V fitted with a UK connector. Waiting on a response from the seller. Worst comes to worst, I buy a new pump to meet the specs.

Ah, bugger. Think the pumps are reasonably cheap, they probably thought it was a simple plug adapter needed, like European stuff. All contractors power tools have to be 110v over here, the weight of the transformers you need to step it down! Probably more people injured by them than by 230v. (Another useless fact we used to be 240v and Europe was 220v,we lost 10v in the common market).

Yeah relatively cheap. A shame though, this pump looks like a really well built brushless pump.

Yeah 110V tends to grab you where 440v tends to push you out. Not sure about 230V, I haven't been stung by that one.

I shorted 2 phases with my finger once. 440v across my finger tip. You could see the track mark under the skin. I once sat on a 2000v anti static line, there's no current but by god did it hurt.

I used work at a factory, in the maintenance shop. We used to charge up capacitors and hang them on the brass door handle.

I am a electrician/electronics tech/engineer. We used to charge up big electrolytic caps in electronics class and toss them to our classmates as we were changing classes.

A bit of humor while I wait for my beans to pop. An oldie but a goody.

A very old man lay dying in his bed.
In death's doorway, he suddenly smelled the aroma of his favorite chocolate chip cookie wafting up the stairs.
He gathered his remaining strength and lifted himself from the bed.
Leaning against the wall, he slowly made his way out of the bedroom, and with even greater effort forced himself down the stairs, gripping the railing with both hands.
With labored breath, he leaned against the door frame, gazing into the kitchen.
Were it not for death's agony, he would have thought himself already in heaven.

There, spread out on newspapers on the kitchen table were literally hundreds of his favorite chocolate chip cookies.
Was it heaven? Or was it one final act of heroic love from his devoted wife, seeing to it that he left this world a happy man?
Mustering one great final effort, he threw himself toward the table.
The aged and withered hand, shaking, made its way to a cookie at the edge of the table, when
he was suddenly smacked with a spatula by his wife.

"Stay out of those," she said. "They're for the funeral.
