wassup guys where i plan to hang dry is currently 77 degrees and has RH of 34%.

i know the rule of thumb is for every 10% let it go a day then add one day to the total so i should be looking at around 4 days to dry. in rh of 34% correct?

my questions is how important is temperature when drying and what range do i want my temps in? :toke:

if i turn my window AC unit (which is in the room i use to dry in) on or off the temps change alot. and obviously at night temps are lower.

Right now its not as cold as its been the past few weeks so right now during the day with my ac unit on im sitting at 77 degrees in my little drying space. should i be aiming for 60-70 degrees or do i just need to worry about RH..:bong:

ive read the harvest/curing threads and those are mostly talking RH and jarring/curing so im understanding that just curious about temps best for drying :D

thanks guys

77 degrees w/ an rh of 34 should be fine ... avoid moving air .... not stagnant and not moving is best .... I would not add the ac into the picture as that will lower the rh even further ... a good hygrometer is your friend come harvest time ... :toke:

Twenty degrees celcius is best temp. Heat can depreciate the level of your thc.

yo guys if im drying with an RH of 26 (meter read lowest RH was 20, must of been last night im guessing) should i be trying to get that up or is it all good? my temps last night were 64 but now is at 70 since its daytime. should i be tryna change any of these numbers or is that alright :smokebuds:

yo guys is the stem snap test to check dryness a sure way to tell how dry?

my stems still are kinda bendy bud the actual bud feels kinda dry..should i just jar it or wait? :smokebuds:

The stem snap test is a reasonable method but is not quite as accurate as using a hygrometer....one could jar them for 6 hrs and check the jar again....remove the buds if there is moisture buildup within the jar.. I suggest you wait for other opinions though, as opinions and conditions vary.

the outside of the buds can be dry but the inside might still be moist. I would wait.
dry weed is better than moldy weed imo

I would jar it for 6 hours. This will even it out. Insides and outsides. Then check it. You can always take it out of the jar and you can always put it back in. Unless you drop some wet stuff and leave it for a week to mold without checking

I would definitely jar it for a few hours and get a reading from the inside of the jar with a hygrometer. It's better to under dry and have to burp/check the jar than to over dry. But if you do over dry you could stick an orange peel or a boveda humidity pack in the jar to get it into the right range which is 60-65rh

My question should fit under the title. When should I harvest and start the drying process if I want my buds in jars by April the 2nd, burped and all? Some general guidelines from past experiences (which I have none) like 7 days to snap the stem then days X it is mold safe to store them in an airlock jar. Air is "not stagnant and not moving".
