Hey stealth, by no means do I have the experience that TBM and the good Doctor have but my second grow was the blue diesel and I was amazed at the results I got being a noob and all. I yielded just over a QP of dried cured bud off 5 plants one of which was a runt and didn't grow over 7 inches. They were grown under 20/4 lighting and did great. It was a very easy/forgiving plant to grow as well. I think you will be pleased. I also have a Super Cali Haze going right now. She is at 10 weeks and is 44 inches tall so that may be a problem with your height restrictions. She's a beauty and is full of buds and starting to stink. I have more BHD beans on the way and will personally stand up for anything that Short Stuff/Stitch produces. As for the other strains, I have no experience with them therefore I can't comment on them. Patience is the key to this hobby. You have several knowledgeable people here that are more than willing to help you out with any problems you may have.

Thanks!! Excited to watch the green grow. Blue diesel seems awesome, good reviews stable autoflower. Afgan kush ryder, so many mixed reviews and head scratching with it. QP with 5 Autos sounds good to me!! I can only fit 2, maybe 3-4 small small low ryders or something similar though.

You think the Cali Haze is possible in my limited space in a 2.5-3 gal metal pot and just training it down with picks to grow in a circle around the pot? Everytime is wants to poke up and grow, just tuck under another pick and keep the circle going till flower? Maybe a cool experiment, but sativas get lengthy as heck.

What size is your cab? Like I said mine is 44 inches tall and I only have about another 6-8 inches before she touches the light. I'm hoping she doesn't grow any taller. I have her in a 3 gallon pot. I've never tried LST for fear of messing something up. I may give it a try though. I had lost my last 3 SCH seeds but found them mixed in with the few different photo seeds I have. I planted them about a 14 days ago and they are doing great. I plan to top one, LST one, and try to clone one. This will all be new to me but it's the only way I'm going to learn I guess. And since they are SCH they will have time to recover if I mess up too bad.

The dresser is 31 in x 17 in x 36 in (LxWxH) with a 250w HPS so height is extra restricted, probably 14-20 inches MAX of grow space. Might be a cool experiment though in the far future to repeatedly train the SCH around the pot, if something goes wrong I can put her outside maybe. What light/nutes do you use? All your autos in 3gals?

I'm using a 1000w MH/HPS light, Fox Farm trio (Big Bloom, Grow Big, Tiger Bloom). My SCH are in 3 gallon pots but my blue diesels were in I believe 2 gallon pots. Here are a couple of pics just before harvest.

Dr. Auto, love the videos. One of the reasons I've gotten started and created a 250w HPS stealth dresser. Germinated and just planted the seeds yesterday. Thread can be found here. Anyways, I have 1 of each auto: Himalaya Blue Diesel, Afgan Kush Ryder, Onyx, Super Cali Haze, Mataro Blue, and a La Blanca. I have been searching and searching for journals on each strain, and have been informed that they all aren't stable autos and kind of suck besides the Onyx and Blue diesel. Problem is, I germinated/planted Himalaya Blue Diesel and Afgan Kush Ryder and then found all that out. Question is: what do I do? I really really want a nice yield/great bud but have height restrictions. I don't know what pot size to use and what to do the Afgan ryder/ Blue diesel, they say to use nothing more than 1-1.5 gallons with my space restrictions. Should I switch to 12/12 after 2-3 weeks considering the blue diesel wont yield as much as the ryder?

Thanks man, awesome thread and site.

sorry about the wait. Mataro Blue and La Blanca are unheard of in my books so i cant help you with info on em. stick with well know stable autos next time if you want to be safe.

afgan kush ryder is one ive heard ppl having trubles with but its way to soon to be asking if you should flip lights to 12/12. if it dont auto id just put it outside and start more autos. its not smart running 12/12 plants with autos if you want a nice yeild.

super cali haze is a terrible autos for u to grow in a tiny place like that. if i were you id be growing HBD and ONYX so you dont have to worry much. you said you can fit 3 and it sound like 2gal pots would work fine for you. I wouldnt go with 1 gal ever with autos.

 no problem! Just realize sometimes when asking a question over a weekend, it might be a few days before someone answers. Most people tend to visit the forum during the week. Plus this past weekend was a big US holiday weekend so a lot of members were busy doing real world things.

As far as what I think, I would stick with the recommend pot size. For lighting, also keep with the recommend lighting, at least until the true autos are about a week or two from harvest, then if the others still haven't flowered because they aren't true autos, then I would flip the lights to 12/12. The change in lighting shouldn't affect the true autos very much, which will be close to finishing (who knows might even assist with resin production). All your plants won't finish the exact time but most likely they weren't going to anyway. So harvesting of all the plants will be staggered over a few weeks, maybe as many as 6 but at least you should get max yield from them all.
Good Luck!

Thanks man!!! I am familiar with the holiday that was on Monday, the 4th of July. I'm also familiar with "real world" things as well. What is the recommended pot size? Have been told a big gulp cup from a gas station will do- to -use nothing under 3 gallons. I will do as you put it above, switch to 12/12 if the AKR doesn't auto for me and just hope the HBD doesn't get mad at me for only 12 hours of light. Thanks for the reassurance and help you guys.

Whats up with Dr. Auto? No more growing, right? Thats a bummer.

There he is! Thanks dude. Your post just appeared, it wasnt there when I posted!!! Good stuff, great info. Should have done some better research on the good auto strains, but some were freebies so oh well. Anyways, thanks man!

I seen one of your vids and you said 5 gallon pots would be ideal for autos. Is this too excessive? I could only fit 2 in my tent. I kinda wished I did like 5-6 three gallon pots. Theres always next time. I hope I at least get 10-20 gr more than I would have in the 3 gallon.

Im a complete noob, but have seen a guy grow regular sativa dominant photo strains indoor finishing in 1 gallon pots (as an experiment he used 1 and 2 gal pots, both looked great and were around 4 feet tall but he usually uses 3-5 gals) So I really dont know what to tell you, but people say the autos roots dig down quick like almost instantly going to the bottom of the pots then they spread out and around or something. I was told to use 1 gal pots for my small space, but will go with around 2 gallons like Dr. Auto said to use. I'm sure you have far more space and height than me, so I would use 3 gals if I were you. 5 gal seems like a waste of soil and space, even though you may have a taller & a tad more yielding plant.

too late this grow...ill keep the 2 for now. my other one in the 3 gallon is looking stunted. So for my first grow, 2 plants will have to do. hopefully my NL will actually auto.
