and this and other spectrum=plant vig questions @FullDuplex wanted to ask and he can't be here

Good question. I know that providing the spectrum of light that plants need it, when they need it is the most efficient use of light photons. Deep blues, mid spectrum light, and UVA is provided by our VEG switch. Somewhat similar to what you get from a MH or even CMH. Although they are very mid spectrum heavy. Our bloom switch adds the deep reds. HPS has alot of yellows orange and deep reds as well, just no real UV.

The UVA diodes within the LED stress the plant slightly. The plant responds to that stress creating sunscreen which is everything we want out of dank weed....essential oils, flavonoids, terpenes, trichomes, THC & CBD. I have read however UVB which is not included may in fact decrease CBD's.

Tom, I see more and more UVB lighting showing up in various lights,.. usually these are some sort of fluoro' bulbs, notorious for weak penetration,.. We know for a fact UVB exposure does increase THC content, but there's NO comparison to the Sun vs. a bulb,.. the skeptic in me says such UVB bulbs offer little help for this overall,. just those bud under most direct exposure,...
Mark and Tom, have you seen any credible info about how UVB affect CBD content, or may in fact, destroy it, unlike THC , which empirically seems to shield the sensitive DNA in forming seeds>

UVB is becoming quite popular in the grow industry with some LED coming with the UVB feature. With me not taking the LED/UVB plunge I can not say but im sure Tom will have an answer to this

All the best

So CBD can be effected by the introduction of UVB  I think a comparison grow would be needed to be sure but this is also the same info I have been told and seen across the forums :pass:

All the best

..following up on my CBD question, now that I think of it, UVB shouldn't really degrade CBD, give what hemp buds carry for CBD load!
