i have a t5 fluorescent light that I wanna use in early veg. my issue is that i want 12 autos in my 5' by 5' by 2m long space and I plan on starting them in two gallon fabric pots. i have been advised to not transplant autos.

my only other run was my first ever grow with photos. any advice is appreciated. thanks

I don't do much transplanting, but when I do, I seldom have an issue. My preferred method is germing in final pots...3ltr.
T5HO has been my veg light for years, running 24/7. Usually plants are 3 wks old when moved to a tent for bloom. Keep the T5 within a few inches of your plants, they'll love it.
12 plants in ya tent is ambitious...I do 6 at a time in 6 sq ft and it's a lot of work sometimes....but I'm an old fart....if you're up to it, go for it.

Yeah bro. I agree it's ambitious but I think I checked it quite a few times that this many can fit in my space. Just wondering now if I should start in solo cups to get all of them under the t5 for now. I have a 1x1000w MH/HPS for later veg/flowering.

Solo cups are an excellent way to get several under the t5 and get'em going....I figure a sq ft per plant for my 3 ltr plants but your 2 gal plants may require a bit more room. I love seeing a bulging tent.
For years I grew in a larger area with 12-15 plants perpetually and it kept me busy. I like staggering my grows so I'm harvesting every 2-3 weeks.

I can't think of a way to use a T5 in early veg for 12 plants in 2 gal pots. A t5 can veg 12 plants in solo cups for a bit.. But without transplanting, I can't think of a way to make this work the way you want it to.

I transplant autos all the time. Like every grow, lol. I don't have issues. But I only keep them in there for a week or two max. I've transplanted from 1 gal pots as well. Those work a little better and the plant can stay in the one gal for a longer time frame.

Technically, you can fit 12 two gal pots in a 5x5. Would I recommended it for your first auto grow? Hellllss Noooo, lol. But hey, that's what experiments are for! My question is.. Since you plan on growing out 12 autos in a 5x5, you obviously have a bigger light somewhere that you plan to use in late veg and flower when they are in the 2 gal pots.. Why not use that light? That way you can stick to your plan of not transplanting.

To be honest, that's what I want to do bro. I have a 1x1000w MH/HPS. Just two different 1000w bulbs. It's just that I was always told t5 is great for early veg. It's my question is if it's worth it to try to use the t5 on them, or would it also be just as fine under an 1000w?

My T5 produced some really great photos plants for my first run. There are no complaints. My position is that I've never tried early vegging with the MH so I don't know what to choose here.

I might even be due for an upgrade to invisible sun lights sometime soon. My friend is in the process of getting them.
