Hey all,

Assuming your plants are getting the correct levels of light (ppfd), does height really matter? Obviously we don’t want to burn them, but other than that?

Much appreciated!

The only thing I see for a difference would be if you light is up higher and turned up more The light would go further to the outside and better distribution the lights closer and down by the plants be less distribution more concentrated on the plants just below. NOt to the out side of the tent as much.

You want your plants closest you can to the light without effecting/burning the plant.more light equals more energy for the plant to use to create leave/stems/roots etc. Light diminishes drastically the furthur away a plant is from the light source.

I started mine at the 36” recommended by maker and raise it when they grow about 6”. Currently light is as high as it can go and is about 34” away from older 2 (39 days) and 39“from younger 4 (32 days) but theyre still stretching. Put smaller ones on 4“ blocks temporarily to get the canopy a little more even. Just switched from 80% to 100% on my 4x4 600w led when I raised it and am getting 650-760 ppfd around the tent. My estimates have em about 8-900 at final height. It’s my first grow so I don’t know better but they‘re doing ok so far being that distance.
