This site is legit. I ordered from there recently on Frank's recommendation. I paid about $55 for 3/4oz of their fancier stuff. Paradise og is pretty good
My mom got enough flower to make a year’s worth of cbd/cbg mix capsules for less than 100 bucks….she’s used those along with a thc vape pen she gets at her local dispensary to FINALLY get off the oxy pills after 30 years of use.

I just dropped about $100 on CBD seeds, so I'll get a few of those going soon. It'll be about 6 months before they're grown, dried, and cured, so maybe I'll sample some of the mail order stuff, and have it around for comparison when mine are ready.

In general I grow for my wife/med patient, and when I grew a 1:1 CBD plant in the past, she didn't think it did anything for her (she has RA), so it fell off the radar. Now I'm developing some physical issues of my own, so I pulled a bottle of CBD/THC mixed tincture I made that was in the back of the fridge and tried some. I really like both the quality of the high, and the way it softens the end of a day and takes the edge off of pain.

I've got a pack of vidamints I wanna try but every time we got space available somethin else takes priority.

tough to get over the "diet weed" reputation and weird "medical" stuff, also. there's def some real value for a lot of people but it still has a major snake oil vibe from a lot of other people.

I hear you. It looks like most people (like my wife) who look to cannabis are looking for the "high", which has its own medicinal benefits. When I started growing for her in 2015 she was a legal med patient (before rec was legal here), and it's not that long ago but even then a lot less was known about CBD. We've tried ointments and other topical CBD products, none of those seemed to have any impact on our ailments.

Now I'm starting to appreciate "weed Lite" -- I have always been an evening edibles guy, but now I'm often reaching for something earlier in the day, and milder blends can ease the pain without making me useless. There's a point I hit with THC where I'm down to two options, watch tv or go to sleep. I save that for the evenings.

In the UK we have to pay a lot for CBD or CBG flower, the cheapest I can find is about £5 per gram, and that is the cheaper stuff, the rest is around £10, thats 10 real pounds for a gram...So I always try to add one plant in my tent that is either all CBD or is a 1:1.
My favorite is La Rica from Elite seeds - the taste and smell is very citrusy indeed, and it has just about the right ratio in my opinion and as a result it just touches the sides in terms of high, but is very relaxing. Cali Dr was another one I grew recently which was lovely and smooth, it had very low THC so there was no/little high as such but great for a day time smoke and for relaxing anti/anxiety.
Normally my wake and bake is in the form of a pure CBD joint either bought or homegrown, definitely part of my daily.
Can't believe you guys get it for tuppence on the pound - happy days for you

I did a search on the company that is producing (at least some of) the QP's mentioned in the other post, and they're in Southern Oregon, maybe a few 100 miles south of me. While that was nice, what I really liked was seeing that their product appears to pass all of the Oregon state level cannabis checks for things like pesticides and mold. That and the 50% off coupon, and I had to dive in and try some. Oregon has a ridiculous surplus of weed, I didn't realize it was CBD/hemp as well.

I really like the 1:1 strains.
I've grown fast eddy from royal queen seeds. Excellent robust plant with lovely citrus flavor. Canna cheese from mephisto is also great.
I didn't like the 1:1 from fast buds.Tiny and i didn't get any effect
Pure red cbd from sweet seeds is a lovely pure cbd plant.
Dr seedsman from seedsman is supposedly a 30:1 but i got high from it. Grew really well though and a nice smelly plant.

Thank you for the strain reviews, that's really helpful.

The cbd/thc ratio seems, like most characteristics in seed grown strains, to be influenced by pheno variation. I love Twenty/20's honesty and transparency, in their Vidamints description they mention that the ratio can range from 3:1 to 1:3, it's a good reminder that all of the given ratios are at best estimates. Hopefully with older more stabilized strains, it narrows.

I've been trying to find the latest science on CBD. There's not that much in terms of definitive data, and the actual studies are not what come up first in the searches. Mostly I find articles which are on website selling products, so regardless of how detailed or well annotated they are, it's possible they only reference the studies that support their sales. That said, it's been interesting.

On an anatomical level, bioavailability and ingestion method has been an interesting topic. In general, CBD edibles are absorbed somewhere between 6-18%. However, eating CBD suspended in fatty oils has better absorption than when suspended in alcohol, and taking it with fatty foods is better than taking it on an empty stomach. And the apparent medical benefits of CBDA are interesting, because it sounds like both CBDA and CBD have positive affects, so blending "raw" with decarbed might prove beneficial. And then there's CBG, which seems to be a good thing, but there is even less info on it. Looks like more studies are being done, so the next few years should be informative.

I read about that a year or so ago so I always throw a few un-decarbed buds in when I make oils - I even tied my hand at some balm using beeswax and coconut oil with an un-decarbed/decarbed mix, teh balms turned out great, I use it on my wrists for early arthritis and it certainly soothes.
