My first girl Lucy. She's been extremely kind to me.
Ah, the interwebs. So much false and misleading information from people who read something somewhere and repeated it so often that it is now fact in their minds.
Some forums I've read say do not adjust Ph when growing in a living soil, others say yes. What say you AFN?
I'm a noob, with only three harvests under my belt, and they were grown in a peat based mix. I decided to let nature do it's thing and made up a pretty good soil mix of compost, mushroom compost, ProMix, FFOF and a few other ingredients.
Right now I have 6 clones I took off a bagseed and 3 WW Autos in this mix. All are doing excellent in veg and so far I haven't adjusted my Ph. Before I get too far along, should I be? If so, why and if not, why?
Thanks much.

You might here yes and no even on our forum but I have grown organically using organic nutes and never ph'd my water and never had any problems. You still should add extra cal/mag during flowering especially when using LED lights. You can however, ph your intake if your worried but use a organic based ph product.

I checked the PH once and didn't bother again. I pour my water from one of the water filter containers and it's at 7.0. I've only grown 3 plants myself and for the amounts I've gotten I'm fine as long as it smokes good, which it has

I don't want become embroiled in the should you shouldn't you, I would say you have three previous harvests and say your plant are looking good!
Why fix what ain't broke?

That's just it; before i was feeding them. Now that I have organic soil with all the good stuff in the dirt, I've seen both arguments. Just looking for a consensus. I don't want to kill all the goodies in the soil.

I've grown 100's and 100's of plants and have never PH'd a single drop. PH is a fragment from the modern gardening curriculum.mixed together since the PH'd in bottled feeds bleeds over and as I have always said is Not necessary. ever with the proper water, soil and foods. just my experience as well as my opinion of course but thats what works for me thee best.less headache and so forth.

Allways check pH! it doesnt allways require adjustment, but many microbes and compost insects/worms etc that make a living organic soil great can be devastated by a water thats to basic or to acidic in just a single watering. my water starts with a ph of around 8 and plants can live off of it, but they cannot thrive unless I bring it down under 6.5.

if your soil buffering capacity is on point you'll not have too many PH'ing issues short of it being way way waaay too acidic. not not a lot of air breath things like acid, sooooo.but thats where the buffering capacity comes into play.it can certainly handle more than your average soil. on;ly time I have ever had it become an issue is when the heat is higher and lessened root development and the soil remains more on the wet or overly moist side for too too long and the PH dips since the capacity or drawing out of water is null and void.
