These are experiments, that's why I'm putting them on here before the contest. If the rules state nothing other than soil then we are all good with that. So far a few people are doing different set-ups, not just me.. And I'm the only one posting my set-ups so other people can learn and have fun, should they choose to. Any complaints can be reported or brought up same as any of the other contests....
Unsure what your saying here. I wasent assuming you were doing the net pot for the competition I was stating there's alot of info out there on net pots and solo cup challenges and this isn't the first time I've seen it. It's crazy the things people can come up with for these challenges I love all the innovation and dedication. I'm all for no rules but that makes things difficult to judge. Tag me in your post with the experiments I'd be interested in seeing how it goes.

My apologies, it just sounded like some people were getting uptight about the set-ups, but I feel there is more chance of failure with these than the tried and true. I'm posting stuff up now so if there are any objections, they can be cleared before the contest starts.. Kinda like the beginning with the size of the solo cups and getting folks to agree on a standard. I'm open to rules being more stringent as long as it's cleared before take off :smoking:

I will try the mini bubbler cup for one plant, but the last one I posted, it takes up too much room in the pot. I'll probably go with coco in one and organic media in another. It's been so long since I've grown in soil, that the bubbler cup feels way more comfortable to me. (AutoPots pretty much like hydro).

Sooooo i seemed to have missed the germ code...
Also... Any chance i can get a lil clarity... I am NOT a sponsored seed... Would i put my weekly here or still run a journal as if i was sponsored so i can mark it off my test team check list?

@hairyman better late than never? :smoking:

Kinda AutoPot thingy. The net pot I'm using over the airstone is too big, but it is similar to the AirDome (or the AirDome I made for the full size AutoPot using a 3.5" netpot and a larger airstone).
I still have to figure out the bottom part, I suppose I will just use an Aquavalve in a smaller dish and set the solo cup in it. So not that fancy after all.

Some calcium def is showing, this clone was in the cloner way too long, but is doing great for all that. Another Quick Critical, I will flower both out soon. I want to give this one a bit of time to establish roots and I'll turn the "Airdome" on.

Since these are experiments, once the contest starts I won't post these up in this thread anymore, I will start up a journal for some of my experiments so I'm not cluttering the official thread up. Anyone curious I can tag you into that thread when I get it rolling.

The only rule on front page, states that roots must be contained in the solo cup, medium etc is down to Grower so bubble cup would qualify

Will you try the water pump elsewhere as an experiment? If you do I would love to see it.

Rules are pretty straightforward, but I am open to suggestions if anyone feels a certain grow/style etc isn't fair we are free to say so and let the powers that be determine changes before the start. I want this to be fun for everyone, and have everyone feel the playing field is level. I don't even plan on winning, I just want to make it to harvest  I've never grown in such a small container and I'm paranoid :yoinks:

Agreed. I'm still on the fence with coco or rockwool. Most likely coco for me. Also training is a big mystery. Top,fim,LST HST ECT. I always do some training so I will have to see what the plant gives me. Also flower time. How much veg time do I have before flower. I have a feeling the smaller container will make the plant flower very soon.
