Dialing In MEGA CROP for Auto's

Hmmmm. When I ran MC 1 part (v2 and v3 I think) I had issues unless I started with 2ml/G CalMag+ to my RO before mixing nutes. This was DWC.

I follow MoG's reccomendation of 4 grams and o.5 gram epsom per gallon, adjusting up as needed when I start the nutes.....about a month in when the HF gets depleted...

There is absolutely no reson to add calmag to Megacrop unless it is the Version one. There is plenty of both and adding more is asking for lockout.

Nor is there really any need for the Sweet Candy. Greenleaf even tells you this! Yes they sell it, because people don't listen even to the people who make the nutrient. More often than not, people having issues with MC are using additives of one kind or another. I've been using MC since V1 and was one of the first here to use it, and I'll say it again from experience, no additives needed!
I'm of the opinion that PH soil probes won't tell the same story as a runoff test. A runoff test will also tell you id you have a build up of nutrient in your medium, which now seems likely as the signs of toxicity are obvious, and at a 550 ppm average, should not be an issue with most strains

.I suggest the first thing to do is stop the added calmag, it's doing nothing for your plants and could even be part of the problem.

The thing is that I've run into issues with just running MC by itself in various concentrations, feeding schedules, etc. Of course, it's also possible that my issues do not stem from the nutrients themselves, but maybe watering or feeding frequency may share some blame.
So more recently I've been trying to feed in balance as @Mañ'O'Green has talked about.

Originally I think I saw that one of the 1-parts was balanced with the addition of 0.5 g/gal Epson Salt, which is Mg and S, and it just so happens that the first version of Sweet Candy that I have is pretty similar amounts of Mg and S, with K and other amino's and whatever else they throw in. So i thought, if it balances reasonably that it would achieve the same thing as Epsom salt, that the other additions in Sweet Candy could help (I mean, why would GLN release a product that would sabotage the effectiveness of their flagship fertilizer).

In any case, I ran a mild 300ppm feed through each of the pots, then turned the Blumats way down to ensure they got a chance to dry out a bit as I think I drowned the roots to a degree which may have contributed to the issues. Things were definitely looking better a day or so after allowing things to dry. Here's what they look like now.

I think my next mix I will drop the CalMag and maybe stick with Epsom Salt rather than Sweet Candy. Here's what 4.5 g/gal MC and 0.5 g/gal Epsom Salt looks like in terms of balance. (FYI, I have full ICP testing of the lake water I use which is where I got the base water concentration numbers)

Maybe I missed it some where but what’s your water source? You guys definitely seem on a higher level then me. Just trying to keep up.

I was having issues thinking it was the balance but it was my tap water causing the problems.

nevermind is was right in front of my face.:baked:

In my calculations you get a better balance with the Epsom Salt than the BE.

I have updated the target numbers ranges based on Harley Smiths chart.

@Mañ'O'Green i would imagine, Bud explosion is the PK booster. It’s sweet Candy that I was using as an alternative to the Epsom Salt. This is the bag label that I have

@Daledenton84 I use water that comes from the lake my house is on. It comes out at about 60ppm from the tap, I have environmental water sample data from the lake which I’ve used as the base water concentrations.

Maybe ok but watch for signs of lock-outs.

Yeah I noticed that right after I posted. Your on top of it.
I don’t have much experience but go light with the SC & BE. Also from my experience the less MC 1 part I used the better. Just finishing a run not going over 3g a gallon. But I was using RO water with added calmag and epsom salt.
