Hi guys im growing in a 4x2ft tent in a small box room of my house which is around 9ftx9ft.

I am considering options to dehumidify the area. Where I live gets lots of rain and humidity does by quite high in the autumn/winter.

Also I dont really have the space for dehumidifier in the tent as I will have 2x15l airpots in there. I have a 4 inch ac infinity extractor fan and using passive intake into tent any advice appreciated.

can you make a 30liter dehumidifier tank work outside the tent? if you put one inside the overall temp will rise. Outside, if you have good ventilation, it will suck the dry air in and provide proper conditions. The 4'in is more that enough for a 4x2 moving air in and out.
just don't go buying those little dehumidifiers with little to no capacity, they don't suck enough moisture to keep a cows balls dry for 5 minutes.

Perfect man thanks for reply i did buy one of those shitty little dehumidifiers last year and they don't do a thing. I was doing some reading and people saying that you needed to hook up all sorts of stuff to run dehumidifier outside tent but I was thinking like you said that the room is small and once dehumidifer brings down humidity outside tent then this should do the trick as the tent will be sucking in the dehumidified air.

Would I really need a 30l one would something like this:

ecoair 12l compact dehumidifier

I run 24/0 for just this reason. Humidity is usually in the 80-90's throughout Winter but the lights keep it in check for me. You'd need a small army of those wee dehumidifiers to make a dent lol :pass:

I was thinking exactly like you until @Daipot and @st-tom set me straight. now the tent runs 45% on the inside in a basement where outside rh hovers in the 60-70's during this time.

So the 30l size a must in your opinion?

@HighnDry Ill be running my autos on 18/6 and I think if you take into account the cost for your electric for the extra 6 hours a day for lifetime of auto plant say 80 day average thats 480 hours more usage on your lights over a grow plus the added worry of lights running without a break when away wouldnt be worth it for me my mind would be more at ease knowing lights are getting a break.

I hear ya on the extra electric but still works out at pennies on the gram more so not a big concern. I tried to run a few photos, never again. The RH at 90% was way more of a worry than the extra stress on the lights :pass:

Yeah thats true not much more cost wise I suppose just be a bit freaked about lights running 24hrs when away.

Im switching back to autos for same reason as its been touch and go the last couple weeks with high rh lights out finishing up my photos but luckily enough critical jack has good resistance to moisture if it wasn't for that think i could have run into bother. Have to say enjoyed the photo grow lovely looking plant and the training part was enjoyable first time topping a plant turned out pretty good will chop in a few days

I'm on a 20/4 and it works well. I could go full 24 but I do it to give the lights/power pack a little rest and to slightly drop the temp a little. During veg the RH can run higher, but watch it when flowering starts. That's when the RH will shoot up. Granted I run DWC and whatever water I feed them needs to go somewhere (aka the air).
