Deficiency or Burn? Pics Included

Morning folks,

here's some pictures I took this morning, taken with my mobile with no flash. Looks like things have gotten a little worse, although I did flush last night with 25ltrs of PH water. It's day 51, and it's Fast Bud #2 which the bank I got it from said would be ready in 5-7 weeks... I know it's really about 9-11 weeks but my plant is looking quite mature already. I know that it maybe too late in the day to sort this one, I'm hoping I can find out what the issue is so I can look out for this in future.

What do you recommend I do once it's dried out a little? I have the following on hand but can purchase what I need.

  • BioBizz Grow
  • BioBizz Bloom
  • Advanced Nutrients Big Bud
  • Plageron Bat Guano
  • Meridian Organic (un-sulfured) Molasses
  • Epsom Salts

Any help is much appreciated.

I was wondering if I should cut the leaves off that are affected? Even though they are yellowing and got this ill purple/brown look, are they still of use to the buds?

Personally i would not cut them :) your plant is rather far into its life cycle and regardless of how they look they are still providing vital energy throughout the plant.. im afraid that taking them away would dramatically affect the final outcome of your harvest :) just stick with how it is. You done your flush last night so a couple of days till you see any changes , i strongly believe it is not a phosphorus def. but looking at the second photo of your last post and including the age of the plant the leafs do naturally start to go this way, so anyone correct me if i am wrong but what i would do is.. you did your flush for a start , although plants do not hardly need much nitrogen during late flower they still do require nitrogen througout the grow, so id give em a shot and see how things go, but i still have my thoughts with nitrogen def , but when you feed them next give a little epsom salt, im sure things will be fine. but like i said before if anyone else can help shed some light on this situation please help. i hope with what i have wrote helps you in some way or another :) thanks

milk

I would go with K def too, I try to keep my soil PH at 6.6 and feed at 6.3-6.5.

no mate dont cut a thing.the way the leaves look is just the way they should look at this stage. just let the buds suck everything out of the leaves.
she is a big beautiful girl! just flush with plain water and when there is no green left, wahoooo!time for harvest:booya:do you have a microscope to check status of trichomes? your going to have 2 to 3 zips dry off of that girl! still new white pistils, at least a week if not two!:2cents:

im not american but what the hell is a zip ? that code for an ounce ?

Zip bags perhaps?

astronomy420 - do you have a microscope to check status of trichomes
Yes I have a 60x jewellers loupe, the light has just gone out so I will check later on. I did check yesterday and trichs were mostly clear still, some milky and no amber as yet.

Yeah flushed with water only last night so should be drying out in the next couple days.

There's about 2 weeks to go approx, so would molasses (1 teaspoon/ltr) be of use instead of plain water? Or perhaps every second water till harvest?

Looking at the other pictures on here, some plants just look so fat it's unreal. The lower branches on my plant have some nice thickness but I think it has room for more... would molasses help or is there enough life in the plant to go beyond 2 weeks to do a couple more feeds? Even though I have done a ton of reading, I'm still figuring out so all the info you have all given, is great.

yup a zip is a ounce!:D and for flush stick to your regular watering cycle, meaning when they need it. mollasses is ok, i use it but not during flush, but some like it up to cut! your trichomes will tell you when its time, i would wait at least till trichomes are 20% or more amber. if your looking for amore psychoactve high, cut when all milky! i need pain relief so i go for max amber:smokebuds:and couch lock for sleeping!

Phosphorus (P) Mobile Element and Macro Element
Benefit: Phosphorus does a lot of things for the plant. One of the most important parts of Phosphorus is: It aids in root growth and influences the vigour of the plant and is
one of the most important elements in flowering as well helps to germinate seedlings.
Phosphorus is an essential plant nutrient, and since it is needed in large amounts, it is classified as a macronutrient. Phosphorus is a MAJOR important nutrient in the plants reproductive stages. Without this element the plants will have a lot of problems blooming without proper levels of Phosphorus.

When your plants are deficient in phosphorus, this can overall reduce the size of your plants. Not enough causes slow growth and causes the plant to become weak, to little amount of Phosphorus causes slow growths in leaves that may or may not drop off. The edges all around the leaves or half of the leaves can be brownish and work its way inwards a bit causing the part of the leaves to curl up in the air a bit. Fan leaves will show dark greenish/purplish and yellowish tones along with a dullish blue colour to them. Sometimes the stems can be red, along with red petioles that can happen when having a Phosphorus deficiency. This isn’t a sure sure sign of you having one though, but can be a sign. Some strains just show the red petioles and stems from its genes.
So pretty much the overall dark green colour with a purple, red, or blue tint to the fan leaves is a good sign of a Phosphorus deficiency. Having Cold weather (below 50F/10C) can make phosphorous absorption very troublesome for plants.
Many people get a Phosphorus deficiency confused with a fungus problem because the ends of the leaves look like a fungus problem, But the damage occurs at the end of the leaves. side of the leaves and has a glass like feeling to it as if it had a ph problem. Parts affected by a phosphorus deficiency are: Older Leaves, Whole plant, Petioles.

Thanks for all your help guys.

I will be watering the plant in the next day or so as the soil is still slightly damp after the flush. I will be using 1 teaspoon of molasses per litre for the next 2 weeks, then 1-2 days of darkness... then the chop.

Leaves are still yellowing and the issue I have had with purple colouring is getting worse. Is it normal for leaves to get this purple hue towards the end? I have noticed some slight purple bits on the actual branches rather than the leaf stems, is this associated with nitrogen deficiency?
