Hi everyone, my plants been having symptoms of what looks like nitrogen deficiency or ph problems.

It's a daiquiri lime auto from dp i'm growing on a windowsill ( i know it's not a good environment) it gets around 12h of direct sunlight on sunny days which is most of the time, it's in a 3l pot with store bought potting mix. I only water with plain tapwater (ph reads around 7-7,5) for around a month until it starts showing yellowing where i top dress with some 6-6-12 fertilizer, which doesn't seem to be working, ive tried using some 3-4-5 liquid fertilizer but that didn't work either. I've tried flushing with ph'd water but that still didn't work.

Not sure how old it is exactly but i'm guessing around a month and a week or two.

Again, i know it's not a good environment for growing i just wanna know if there's anything i can do to help it at this point.

Any help is much appreciated, thanks.

PH/nute lock for sure if your your water is @ 7 >>7 .5 - i have the same problem, i have a decent PH meter but im still not getting why my PH fluctuates back up even after I have supposedly correctly PH'd my water.

Looks like an N deficiency, your plants are just sucking it out of the lower leaves to feed the new growth. When you fed nutes how long did you wait to decide they weren’t working and why do you think they didn’t work? It can take a few days for any improvement to show after a feed, and the leaves that are yellow will never go back to green, they’ll just die off. So it’s the new growth you want to be watching as well as any healthy lower leaves to see that they don’t go yellow too. Not necessarily a PH problem

When it first started showing yellowing on the lowest fan leaves i top dressed and watered and left it around 3-4 days which is how long i usually wait between waterings, when that didn't seem to work i tried the liquid fertilizer after a week. The reason i think it didnt work and it's a lockout is because it keeps progressing, it's already at the third set of fan leaves and the fouth is already turing lime green and likely to follown the others.

So what could i possibly do to prevent the ph from going back up if that is the cause? It seems flushing at a low ph isn't having any effect. I've seen pictures of plants with high ph that looked similar but what i don't understand is why is N getting locked out if its supposed to be absorbed at higher ph levels.

I don’t think the N is locked out due to Ph, but I do think it looks like a deficiency. Feeding once in a week and waiting a week to see what happens isn’t really going to help because your plant is still growing and using the N from that one feed, needs more so sucks it from the leaves. By now (assuming 37 days old) i’d be watering my plants (in soil) everyday with about 1L with nutes in. Every day. I currently have 3 plants at 56 days and 2 of them are getting 1.5L with nutes everyday and a half L of ph’d water 12 hrs after the feed because they’re dry and thirsty. My 3rd gets 1.5l a day (1L with nutes and 500ml ph water 12 hrs later).
I think you need to increase your feeds - even if it’s only 2-3 times a week. You don’t say what nutrients you’re using. The plants need more than just NPK

Thanks alot for the advice i'll try feeding regularly with each watering and see if it helps. The dry fertilizer i was using is easy boost from rqs. The liquid was a fertilizer for house plants i found at a gardening store since i dont have any hydro store nearby, besides the 3-4-5 it mentions some B,Cu,Fe,Mo,Mn and Zn in the 0,01 percents. I have some fertilizer for tomatoes i'll try since it's richer in N.
Also, i was afraid of feeding more because the leaf tips start burning as soon as i do

Hmm you don’t want to burn them, try using lesser amounts of the nutrients, if you get new burnt tips then reduce a little bit more. You could order proper nutes online......

You know how you say you nute every day "56 days and 2 of them are getting 1.5L with nutes everyday " - How do you gauge how you are going? Just by looking at them? I have a flowering fertilizer which says to use once a week, would you still smash that in everyday for example?

I think most nutes tell you what the ratio is but dont often tell you how often to feed, so how does one know how frequently to feed? Do you just feed and hope it doesn't burn or something?

Yes I look at my plants and, for example, if I see the leaf tips starting to burn I lower the calmag or just water with plain ph’d water for a couple of days until new growth isn’t showing any symptoms. same if I see the leaves are getting quite dark indicating an N build up, I lower my grow nutes. When flowering starts I usually see the first signs of P def (purple leaf stems, and maybe some rust spots- I know these can indicate other things too) so I start ramping up my bloom nutes.
I use biobizz products, I rarely follow their exact feeding schedules, I try and read what the plants are telling me. I’m in no way an expert, only been growing for a year, but I’ve not had any major issues yet.
