Roger that john, I know where you're coming from! And DJ Short is a true Master, dating back to the '70's, right? His body of work and experience speak for themselves,....... CBN is part of it, but only if it's present, right? Simple fact is, most of the differentiating effects, the "nature" of different strains' buzzes is largely due to the terpene profile; other cannabinoids play their role, yes, many of which are poorly qualified, much less quantified! ...THCV, CBDV, in African and Asian landrace strains are of interest to both rec' smokers and pharma' researchers! But terp's like myrcene, and linalool are often found in higher % in "Indica" strains, vs. "Sativa", and these terp's play a big role in the narco-sleepy effects along with CBN if present.. we've all seen lab reports, and frankly, it's damn rare in significant quantities of the tested buds I see (Santa Cruz Labs is a leader in this industry).... I use quotes because botanically speaking, these are not valid descriptive terms in the current classification scheme of cannabis,.. more conventional terms used for describing the buds and buzz associated with them,...
Ya Dj Short is something like a pioneer. I don't know if many debate this but he made blueberry, and does a lot with old landrace strains. His son breeds now also, next generation genetics. He has some crazy good crosses with most if not all blueberry.
The science behind it all is astounding to say the least. Cannabis has come a long way. I heard a guy talking about terpenes one day, and saying that just extracting terpenes and having them in a vial would be the next big thing, like aromatherapy. Lol I read a lot, but you sound better educated on the subject of cannabinoids and terpenes. I appreciate and value your input.

Cheers mate, I'm learning just like everybody else! I'm no grow/knowledge god, just keenly interested and with a Biology background, I like to dig deeper into things,... Ah, Next Gen' I saw several strains I'm dying to grow,...Dynamite, Romulan/crosses, Lemonator,...
yeah, that's happening already, the terp extraction and adding back into concentrates that have lost most of them,... nothing new really, essential oils are age-old, and used in so many holistic and medical applications,.. who knew aroma therapy wasn't just new -age BS! :crying: .... Check out Santa Cruz Labs website, it's loaded with excellent reading,...

Haha yup little bugger ate the lime seedling I hope he doesn't build a liking for them lol

Sounds like said expert just done some reading in older unrevised grow books lol it's 2017 it's not ditchweed anymore, at least not always. Sure that's where autos come from, and it still exists, but not the autos we're growing. Not to mention they left out Afghani as a type.
hmm to the best of my knowledge thats fairly accurate mate. ruderialis is ditch weed is it not? almost no thc and grows in places with up to 24 hours of daylight. these get mixed with photo strains to make them auto flower then the strains are bred back into themself to make them stronger. i could be wrong but im reasonably sure thats right.
(edit) just spotted wiara kickin about so im sure ill be corrected any minuit now lol.
