It (brown paper bags) does promote aspergillus mold according to Dj Short, heard him say it in a Q&A with Danny Danko from High Times, it's also in his book. A lot of people still do it though. I do sometimes but I give it a few days on a rack first then bag for about 5-7 days then jar. I'm getting some boveda packs though see how that helps.
I wonder how he came to that conclusion?? I'm a scientist at heart so i'm a big fan of evidence-based results, versus anecdotal evidence.. Perhaps where he lives, the spores are more prevalent?, I don't know, but I do know that everyone I know who grows and my past dozen grows have been done with brown paper bags, however, my biggest caveat is that I bud wash immediately after chopping, which is supposed to abate mold/fungal spores, so maybe it truly works??
Please don't take this the wrong way because I absolutely value your presence and contributions.. I just know with empirical evidence from soooo many people for decades, it's hard for me to buy into 1 person's theory without anything other than their personal experience.. Do they have an article or documents that lend some credence to their claim?? I'd be very interested in reading them for my own edification..
