what's the theory behind this pipe increasing potency?

Well the theory arose from the device's performance but I would say that if you can have a pipe that cools the smoke down as well as slowing the airflow, it allows the user to inhale into the deeper lung tissue. I've had many friends and customers who noticed that this pipe delivered more potently than their regular glass pipe. So it comes down to the temperature, velocity, and suction being much different than other devices.

This was something I became aware of from the very beginning but it was the medical patients who confirmed it that this pipe allows for a deeper inhalation which gives you more bang for your buck.
