Time for An Eclipse Party !!

I'm an amateur breeder, currently developing three strains of my own. I'm a beginner but I've done my homework. And I understand, your question was a good one.
All F1 crosses are unstable, any genetic expression can pop up from them be cause they are a soup of all genetic traits of both strains, no traits are bred for in an F1 cross, auto or photo. The only thing gained from a first generation auto-photo cross is the auto genes that will be expressed in later generations.

Super autos, ( F1 auto-photo ), MIGHT flower faster than its photo parent, but many do not. and sativa dominant super autos run 120-140 days...... some even longer! And most still need a 12/12 light cycle. You can start them, then return to a longer period, but then they may take even longer.

These crosses may be ok for some people, its a matter of choice. IMO, its not a way to get quality genetics.

is it a fact that all super-auto's are F1 crosses?

Yes, there is no other way to make them. A F2 MIGHT qualify, if selected from the non-autoing plants, but the odds are 1:9 and then you'd still have to select for traits as F2 is not going to be homogenous.

Some breeders tell you their crosses are F1 femminized.

Nice discussion going on here, keep it coming :thanks:. Love to hear about the science behind cannabis and breeding in particular so it would be great to have a topic were the industry people share their knowledge.

If they won't be biased :shooty:.

Agreed, this has been a very nice and pleasant conversation this morning. Thank you to all you guys participating, nice to see we can actually not agree on stuff but not have to go for the throat either. I'll work on getting some of our breeders together for an event, let's see if they dig the idea and we can plan a discussion meeting and just get some ideas and views involving the community on it. Who knows, maybe we'll pioneer and pave the way for some standards for autoflowers right HERE. :hump:

so basically this means you cant get a stable super-auto because that "super" characterisitcs would fall apart the more generations it gets because it is not dominant?

there must be a way of getting this into F5, it cant be impossible

Exactly, its about choice. And its about ruining the gene pool. Reg seed are important for more than just private growing needs. At the minimum, every breeder should provide at least 1/2 of there catalog in both.
totally agree. And that has about as much chance as the sun disappearing in the middle of the day.

whoa, wait....?
