I honestly wanted to start out with it, but the giant amount of water and nuets needed sorta put me off, I have to pay for my own water and when i calculated how many litres of neuts I would need for my 5 plant grow it put me off a bit. Then I found tangs guide and decided to just follow that and he grows in soil lol. I still think I will go Dwc down the line I really like the idea of it. Maybe even get me a RDWC 8 pot setup or something.

I didn't find it scary I thought it actually seemed easier to do then growing in soil lol. Growing in soil is scary for me but I also felt like I should do it at least once and get my hands dirty i guess.

I started out with hydro, using rockwool cubes and croutons, GH line w/ some added goodies.. The reason I stopped, was because at the time, I was traveling a lot for work, and I'd often come home from a week long trip, to basically rescue the plants.. The wife wasn't a big fan of having to check pH, EC, water temps, etc..., then relay that over the phone, so then I could walk her through what to do.. With soil and fortified amendments, it can be a "water-only" or even a mildly supplemented feed every so often.. Simplicity and ease are the end game with soil, and the best part is you can even use nutes in soil to get larger soil plants..

I'm definitely planning on trying my hand at hydro again this winter, when I can guarantee the reservoir won't get too warm (also won't need a chiller), as well as I no longer travel like that anymore, so I have dedicated time for the plants..

Will do. So far it's pretty good. Focusses on maximizing your harvest. Preserving terpenes, drying, curing, etc.. It came out Friday or Saturday though, seen it on Amazon and pre-ordered it.

hmm never wondered what my water consumption is before. reckon its about 400L per plant for a 100 day grow. i spend a fortune on nutes but i know a guy that uses the ionic line and grows plenty at around the elbow mark. probably costs about £40per plant/20L resevoir per grow. id imagine plenty folk round here could bring that figure down bit aswell. the most common reason i think for being put off seems to be people worrying about ph and ppm. when in reality ph is just a number on a stick. if it goes up you drop stuff in it till i lt goes back down and vice versa. thats it. same with ec/ppm. if it goes down add more nutes. if it goes up add more water. you dont need a feeding schedule you just do what the number on the stick says and pay attention to the plant. i was 8 weeks into my grow before i finally clicked as nobody had explained it to me in simple terms but there you go lol.

Good morning stoners, 1 down 6 to go. Is it me or has this summer flew by? I expect the next couple months to go slow, being time for harvest lol

'Morning @johnp540 !! You're absolutely right!!! I kept thinking it was July, but we're already a week into August!! Still haven't done everything I wanted to, but it's okay!!!
