Has anyone used 100% non-denatured EtOH?

i wonder the same .. i can get 93% ethtanol .. but with something added to deteur drinking ... but how does that affect an extrate and evape ... still bad ??

Yeah basically denatured is cheap shit with other things in it, water, methanol and other byproducts. Most of that stuff is bad to drink (and inhale) but so volatile it's gone rapidly for reference a 2" by 4" plastic container with a half centimeter of pure methanol completely evaporates in less than 24 hours at RT. That last ~5% is a bitch to get due to the chemistry behind distillation, partial pressures of other things like water. But 100% non-denatured should be pure leaving behind zero added flavor -would make for an interesting comparison

Edit: it shouldn't affect your extractions at all really, water is the only thing that could end up in product and its whatever. If there are sugars and/or salts in it that's a totally different story

I have not, i have looked into the 100%/ 200 proof stuff, we have a few members using a product called Kleen Extract

I can't tell what the hell the "kleen xtract" stuff is, it says special formula 200 proof ethyl alcohol sooo is it just 100% ethyl alcohol (spoiler?!)

I looked up that danish stuff, it is a denatured alcohol (has some other good solvents in it) but it has a trace amount of salt in it (this stuff:https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Denatonium) -should be okay but might add a bitter taste apparently (it's only 1g of salt in 100 liters) just an FYI

Edit: also, hit 80degC at least when heating, butanone (one of the additives) boiling point is 79.64 degC
