we are talking very low quantities hot water bathed, with exhaust range hood overhead. Is it that unsafe? Obviously you are far more experiences that i am (and several other people i know have made tincutre with a gas stovetop)
Yes it is very unsafe - people die in those explosions. You need to understand that the vapors do not travel right up a hood they swirl and can hit cooler surfaces and actually move down and form pools.

Have you ever done any french cooking where you flame the sauce? I do all of the time with 1oz of brandy (Cognac) and 1 oz of Marsala wine. so the total of ~3/4 ounce of ethanol. The flame will rise 20 inches above the pan and set the smoke detector off every time.

I don't want to read about any of my AFN buddies becoming fry babies. Move it out doors with a glass electric hot plate and a fan. Remember it is still dangerous under those conditions but less so than a gas range indoors.

fair enough...i did not realize that what i was doing was that unsafe. I believe my time on afn is finally coming to a close. I used to know what i was doing(or at least i thought i knew) but i think my time here has come to a close, as now i am giving poor advise on dangerous subjects. I think it would be better if i move onto other parts of my life and stop wasting my time trying to help out people here.

Don't leave buddy, the amount I have learned from you is priceless! If it wasn't for your advice there would be a lot of people still buying shit street weed instead of growing their own top shelf medicine! I don't think there's anyone who has contributed to this site helping fellow growers as much as you!

You are not wasting your time and I may have just saved your life as well as anybody else that read the posts.

Speaking of CBD strains, I have this going in my tent right now.

Green House Seeds - Super Silver Haze CBD - week 8.5 of 12/12. My first photo grow and I'm getting pretty excited. Made tons of mistakes but it looks like i'll have some chunky buds as a reward. I want to make some oil/tincture/edibles with the CBD 1:1 but not sure what to make yet. I usually prefer to smoke so maybe I should make some rosin or bubble hash. According to the breeder I'm 3.5 weeks away so running out of time to decide

@Weed Warrior thanks for posting that recipe. I hope you don't take off, it's friendly discussion like this that helps everyone. As a total rookie I appreciate both yours and @Mañ'O'Green posts on the topic, it shows both sides of the story. Just my opinion
