I once caught a guy snagging with a giant treble hook.....and i freaked out. Before i knew it this asshole pulled a smaller knife out and was threatening me!! I slowly backed off and unclipped my fanny pack while at the same time pulling out my cold steel tanto, and replied with "listen fuckface, I don't see anyone else around here but you and me....are you prepared to fight to the death over this? Because I am"
2 seconds later his knife was back in the sheath and he was high tailing it out of there....f'ing asshole!!
People like that are almost always all bark and no bite. Not terribly smart to threaten someone when not prepared to follow through. Bad things happen to people like that. And then the gene pool is just that much cleaner.

Never could hang on to a job for long....let alone one that actually paid well:eyebrows:
Heck, I tried getting on as a sponsored pro-fisherman... Apparently, Since I can't afford a $40,000 bass boat, I was rejected LMAO

It isn’t all it is cracked up to be. Long travel and a lot of time away from home and 40 thousand for a bass boat was many years ago. For the pro tours that are out there your talking 75 to even 100 thousand for the properly fitted boat.

For me it made fishing my job and a lot less enjoyable. I only fish local tournaments for fun now.

I did have to buy my permit for 35,000$ and this old wood boat cost 25k plus trips to the shipyard at 10k a whack now and then. Add up what the boat has earned in the time we've had her and it sounds like a lot lol but it's just year to year subsistence with no benefits

I only do local tournaments if the pay out is high enough. Around here they'll just give you a cheap ass pole (lower on the rank than Ugly Stik, even) and a few bucks for winning.
I won one tournament years ago... They gave me a Mitchell pole, Zebco 303, and $50.
The catfish tourneys pay more now, sometimes up to $1500 if there's enough people. Funny thing is, most guys try keeping one or two monster shovelhead, and get pissed when guys like me beat them, when I keep channels and blues haha

Yeah I only fish bass tournaments and the payouts have dropped so I pick and choose what I want to do. I will likely be selling the boat truck and gear soon. Kind of done with it all..

I was actually thinking of finding a kayak tournament and trying that. It'd be more fun, I think.
