There is drift wood, and I've put eucalyptus leaves and gumnuts in there but she won't push down.
The filter I have is huge (tank it 160liters, filter can do 10,000..) so I suspect it's the 2 bacteria that convert poo to N having a massive party and nothing able to push them a bit out of their comfort zone. Early days when I did some aquaponic growing I could manage it down ok. Perhaps less 'seasoned' back then.
I also might have stressed him forcing it down with vinegar until I gave up as it wasn't working, so there was a period of swing.
Not looking for world's best grow from the little aquaponic tent, just some seeds and crosses, and I'd prefer the pollen produced and stored before I move and can set up my main grow area again..
