Greetings to all you wonderful people!
I hope that you enjoy this journal, I will try my best to keep it short on the text as I ramble loads. Any commentary, advice, criticism and love is welcomed with open arms. This is an experimental grow to try and ramp up my skills for the beginning of the season!
This is the first time I am growing seeds from a seedbank, I am really excited. I am pushing my luck, with autumn heading in soon, however being in South Africa our cold months only really start in May. I plan to finish before then!
THE SET UP:
These lovely ladies are being started up in a little green house, until they are big and brave enough to face the outside world! Unfortunately I have to leaves these in their pots, for the ability to move the plants, for stealth and security reasons. Currently pondering on a fence around each pot, I have started pruning the edge of a bamboo forest by keeping them waist high. I will have my plants being covered from visuals on all sides. I'll thin them out if necessary to match the ladies height, this site does have full African sun exposure!
+ Freedom Farm growing medium (Mostly Ammended, my first time trying it, looks, feels and smells good! I have been in contact with the cook, and I trust his expertise...yes, I know there are no NPK values on, but I guarantee this is the best bought soil I have ever seen - SA is limited) I have added a bit of perlite.
+ Seedling mix, coco coir and perlite.
+ Freedom Farm Fabric Pots - 3x20L & 2x10L (I need to decide for myself what i'll use, this is an experimental grow, yes I know the strain gets big for 10L, lets see)
+ Seagro - organic fish emulsion which I have used for ages on my babies (May get BioBizz nutes later)
+ Organicide - organic pesticide for those pesky pests
+ Kelp - extra noms (If its even necessary, I may use a diluted version in the beginning, may not'
+ Home made worm wee, and castings available if needed.
+ 5 x Critical + 2.0 Dinafem Seeds
DAY 1 - 23 January - Two seeds I germinated before hand by soaking them in water for 12, then dropping them. Soaked for the 22nd.
