the Cree diodes are a little more efficient than bridgelux diodes. especial when driven very soft. some growers have been experimenting with them for a few years now but have not been able to match the performance of HPS using just warm whites or a warm white/cool white mix. the Cree cxa 3070 is very popular for this application you can see they are very efficient when driven soft.but there is still no agreement on the best spectrum and it is possible that some strains have adapted to HPS after many generations of growing under them but I have not heard of anyone matching HPS/MH performance with just white leds.I will be following your post to see how your experiment works out.this is a very fun hobby and I am sure in time we will learn a lot from it. my first test will use 30 3watt diodes driven at 600ma (58 watts). this is a proof of concept test and if it works well I will build a larger unit or may just convert a mars hydro
