Plugs are fine for dwc.. maybe not if you have really fine sprayers but you will never avoid all solids that's why I run a pond bio filter

Think I have the fonts and formatting sorted but still short on content.

Hands up if you want to take on a thread from the following list!

Welcome thread - @fettled6 (SoH may post it but I will prepare it)
Water rituals (surely someone has the low down, my water is very good so I don't mess with it much)
Hydro Nutes (just a quick and dirty of the most foolproof to get people going)
Commercial systems (again quick and dirty but include cutaway pics so it shows how it all works)
DIY systems (knock yourself out! have linked ManOgreen and my DIY rig but more the merrier)

We have a DIY RDWC Bucket system that we will put pics up of soon. Not sure which pc to use for pics, I take and store my photos on my tablet and it seems to hate the formatting of the AFN Forum. Typing responses here is like walking down 9 miles of gravel road barefoot. no fun with the autocorrect, and uploading pics from the tablet has not worked yet.

Anyone got any advice for starting in rockwool?? I do the paper towel to the cube, but I've had tap roots come out the top and have to very carefully turn it around. I've also had shells still on the head and not wanna bust loose, sometimes i can get them out lol... just wanna see what you guys do and if you have these issues too! I lose about 25% to the rockwool a few were my own fault though lol... thanks guys!

1) I usually start mine seeds in a dap paper towel
2) soak my rockwool in PH'd RO water (I get the rockwool cubes that have precut holes in them)
3)once tap root root shows (usually 48hours) I prepare a peat pellet by letting in soak in PH'd RO water for 30 minutes and dig out a hole halfway down center of peat pellet
4) I then carefully drop seed in peat pellet, tap root facing down and us a little bit of the peat I dug out to sprinkle on top of seed
5) place peat pellet into rockwool cube

Simpler is to plant seeds directly into Rapid Rooter peat moss cubes, then put the cubes into hydro growstone or hydroton.
