Ok here are my Coco Tips.

Use Buffered Coco and if you really want your plants to Rock on, then mix 10% Worm Castings and 10% Rice Hulls to offset the poor airation of the Worm Castings.
If you use Straight Coco then don't use any Perlite.
Every time you add stuff to the Coco it lessen's the CEC ratio the Coco Nutrient is designed for, & just takes up root space.. Perlite does nothing for the perfomance of Coco unless you are using poor quality Coco to begin with. The Worm Castings make a big difference and it's more than worth the trade off. The Microbes from the Worm Castings can't be overstated!!!!......It took a while, but now this Stuff called Recharge is all the rage...Don't bother with that overpriced stuff just use Worm Castings

Leave 30mm space at the top of the Pot.

If you use poor quality or Brick Coco then Flush Flush Flush and Flush again with just Plain Water then Buffer as per Paragraph 4.

If you use Coco correctly then Fungus Gnats will be an issue...So here's the good Oil on that...Place Flyscreen or cotton Cloth in the Bottom of the Pots before adding in you Media
This will stop them getting into the bottom drain holes in the Pots, this is often overlooked..Place 1 Teaspoon of Mosquito Bits evenly over the top of the Coco..When your Plants are about 2 weeks old place course Sand or small crushed sharp gravel on the top of the Media about 20 to 30 mm deep, this will stop them getting in the Top.

When Prepping the Coco mix up 1.5 ML per liter of Cal/Mag and 4 Ml per liter of Rhizotonic or Seasol and PH it to 5.8 let it sit for at least 2 days and check and adjust the PH if necessary and flush it with at least 100% run off.

These are the following nutrients I use

Canna Coco A&B
Calmax (Calmag)
Cannazym (not necessary if you do not use Worm Castings)
Seasol or Rhizotonic
PK 13/14 (1 week as directed early flower)

Basic E.C. Levels assuming the Water has an E.C of 0.2

Seedlings------ 1.0 to 1.2 E.C
Veg -------- 1.2 to 1.5 E.C.
Flower ------ 1.5 to 1.8 I usually sit at 1.6 for flower except for the 1 week of PK then it's about 1.8 E.C
Late Flower---- 1.2
Last Week just PH water with Cannazym or just PH water...I use Cannazym to help reduce shock

Always let your nutrient sit for 2 to 3 days before using it, the PH will drift during that time. After 2 or 3 days adjust it and it will be rock steady.
Don't leave your Nutrient any longer than 10 days....Always use and Air Bubbler and small recirc Pump in your Nutrient Tank.

Set P.H to 5.8 to 6.0..... 5.8 for pure Coco and..... 5.8 to 6.0 if using Worm Casting's in the mix

Never let the Coco get any drier than about 50% of the Pot weight..If you do then the Osmotic pressure will go through the roof.
My Seedling get watered about every 3rd Day and in mid Flower they get watered twice a day, this can and will vary depending on your Pot size, age and Plant.
Basically they need feeding when the Pot gets to about 50% weight
Always get 20% run off
Never drip feed, always flood the pots.
Never flush with just plain water, this will stuff up your Microbe's
Use Calmag at 0.5 ml per liter the whole grow or 1.0 ml per liter if you use distilled or RO water. you can back it off even further when in mid flower
Cannabis is a Calcium Whore just like Tomato Plants!

10 liter Pots are fine, using any bigger is just a waste. Taller Pots are better than shallow.

Do all that and you will get this sort of performance from pretty much any Auto in just 4 Weeks

I'm running coco perlite soil and having awesome results. Here's my girls at 22 days

One thing to keep in mind when you're using coco... It's basically the middle ground between soil and hydro. How you treat it will show in your yield.
For example: Girls on left were watered like a soil grow.
The shrub in back was treated like a hydro grow.

Nice of you to take the time to write this up. However, you have made some incorrect statements. You stated "IF you grow right in Coco, you will have problems with Fungus gnats". That is false, grab some quality Coco and keep your grow room clean. Coco has become popular and Canna Coco's quality went down massively. Char Coir is high quality and I highly recommend it. Your EC numbers are way too high for most people at each stage you listed, so I would not follow that advice. Drip Systems work amazing in Coco, not sure why you say that you have to flood? 20% run off is not required each time you water either. I have been growing in Coco for a VERY long time. While you did share some decent information, you are wrong about numerous things.

Fungus Gnats could care less about cleanliness
My E.C. numbers are on the low side, maybe you should try Worm Castings, and my nutrient combination.
20% run off is absolutely essential for maximum performance, you can water less and risk salt build up, or flush with a lower E.C. but why bother
Dripping will work but just not as well as flooding...The Roots will always concentrate towards the source & you need to flush regularly or risk major problems. Or you can use a really low E.C. like it sounds like you do and then get lower performance
I've been growing in Coco for close to a decade, well before it was popular and I know exactly how to get the best out of it
That Photo I posted was at 1.6 E.C. and it's not even in Flower or just barely and the leaves are always a rich glossy green with no burnt tips.
By the sounds of the methods and composition of what you use, it's no wonder your Plants can't handle the correct amount of food

Canna's quality is just fine...I tested the run off using Distilled water on a new Bag a couple of weeks ago and the PH came out bang on 5.8 and the E.C. was 0.16...exactly what you would expect with a Buffered Coco, and the composition is just like it was 10 years ago
Post up a Photo of one of your plants at 28 days and prove I'm wrong

Not sure why you would use soil with Coco, that just stuffs up the CEC ratio and makes it very difficult to get the right PH & Nutrient Balance.
Next time ditch the soil and use Worm Casting's instead and your Plant might get close to the massive stems, size, color, health of mine...lol
