Fantastic harvest! That’s one heck of a fine lady. Do you trim everything in the bowl?

I havent told many people about this but what I do is go through my room and hand pick all the top buds. Anything that’s finished, dense and beautiful. After this I let the middle and lower buds go another 1-2 weeks. After this I hand pick again. Anything not picked I end up throwing in the bowl. You’ll lose some and knock some of the trichs off but trimming a pound in less than an hour is well worth the losses.

One thing I did do with my trimmer was spent a lot of time taking it apart and bending the blades to sit as close to the bottom of the grate as possible. I shimmed and bent till it nearly rubbed. Even if it does rub a bit it won’t hurt the blade since this part would never be in contact with the buds. Adjusting them allows for tighter trimming and I have found leads to less spins in the machine. Less spinning leads to less loss.

Thanks BigSmo! I did trim this entire plant in the auto trimmer. Normally I like to take the trophy buds and hand trim them, but I was just too damn lazy this time around lol.

I agree with how much time it saves. This plant took me 3 hours with a few smoke breaks in between. Hand trimming by myself would have been at least 10-12 hours.

I have always wanted to hand pick the top buds and let the bottom ones grow more, but I get so impatient. Plus, I like to keep the smell down to a minimum, as the wife is not fond of the smell. Taking it down it stages will obviously have the smell lasting longer, and I try to be courteous lol .

I like what you're saying about getting a closer cut. The loss isn't too bad because it just goes to dry ice hash, so it will still be used.
